CNN legal analyst Sunny Hostin had choice words for President Obama last night when she appeared on “The Lead” with Jake Tapper.
...“Both Mayor Rawlings-Blake and President Obama, today, using the word “thug,”” Tapper said after showing a clip of Mayor Rawlings-Blake speaking. “Sunny, you take issue that?”
“I do,” Hostin responded. “It’s not a word, certainly, that I’m comfortable with. It’s not a word that I use. I think that we can all agree that that word, that term has been racialized, and I think what I saw during the riots was, I saw a lot of crimes being committed, I saw multiple assault, I saw theft, I saw arson, and those are crimes, and so, should we call them “criminals?” Yes.
“Thugs?” she asked. “I’m not comfortable with that. I think… I don’t think there’s a place for name-calling, especially racialized name-calling, but I do think it’s fair to call them criminals, because that’s what we saw.”

Are these people saying that there is an identity between thugs and black folks? Who are the racists?

any word or phrase that is accurately and truthfully descriptive
as being “offensive”.

Pretty soon my 2 year old son will be labeled racist for calling a Darth Vader helmet-—a black hat.
I don’t let others control my language. They can project all they want and twist words and “coded” meanings till they turn blue in the face.

Sunny Hostin, once she is away from the camera and teleprompter she is most likely capable of very little, if any, coherent or significant thought. I have not heard about this person before as I watch hardly any CNN nowadays, but trusting that I can still safely make the above assumption.
thug is about behavior
Changing the word will not change the behavior. The thugs that rioted need to take responsibility for their actions. Oh wait, this is Obamaland/USSA.......criminals need not answer for their criminality.

Why is it that so many words used to describe people who break the law are shuffled to the “racist” category?
Perhaps due to the overwhelmingly majority of people that perpetrate crimes?
It must have been his white half speaking.
In the last few days, I saw the (black) mayor of Baltimore, the (black) police chief of Baltimore, the (black) city council member from Baltimore, and the (black) president of the United States all call these rioters “thugs.”
But it’s RACIST?
I actually saw a comment on the Facebook page of one of my high school classmates who is a “bishop” where one of his followers said, in response to Obama using the word “thug” that “he has the spirit of the devil in him.”
You see, president Jug Ears used a “racist” term, but its okay and is NOT racist by virtue of being half black.
Italians should be angry....
But, but, but Sunny is a liberal and therefore has feeeeeeeelings.
