It’s something I’ve certainly pondered, if things keep playing out in their current direction... a future where a depraved America has turned decidedly anti-Christian and comes to twistedly view its evil and decadence as a “moral good” to be globally championed... and a Russia going in the opposite direction with a mix of Christianity and nationalism which has quirkily been seeded in the culture by otherwise nefarious and self-serving dictator Putin.

Sounds like the narrative of a dystopian sci-fi novel. But witnessing America grotesquely devolve into such abject moral degeneracy and rot these past few years, scenarios like this no longer seem so far-flung to me.

I view wash post and npr as 99 percent leftist not conservative.

They are. Neocons ARE statist leftists who turned against the USSR 40 years ago. But the Kristols. Bennets, Krauthammers, Frums, Brookses, Gersons, etc. pass themselves off as "conservative" while peddling their statist, warmongering dogma. The Washington Post is their home page in the print media.

Unfortunately, FNC and a lot of talk radio still bill these lunatics as "conservatives". And, if you disagree, they smear you.

The ORIGINAL neocons were brave, serious thinkers.

Putin is providing weapons, equipment, and men to fight and kill citizens of a nation Russia is officially at peace with. He's making two contradictory statements and his supporters are too. One of them is that Russia is so powerful that no nation or group of nations can stop Russia. Another is that Russia is scared of the poor (poor because of 70 years of Russian/Soviet domination) and must bully those same nations because of Russia's historic paranoia.

The article is unsophisticated sophistry for the crass Putin lovers who act like catamites in a jail.

Russia can’t “return” anywhere. Even before Communism, the Russkies were committing mass murder against folks. Violence and totalitarianism run deep in their veins! They even have fantasies that Joseph Stalin was a late convert to the Russian Orthodox Church, and that he was a hero in his life time who only murdered “5th columnists.” Russia is a degenerate nation, an outright enemy of God, a brutish wildman among more civilized nations.

Case in point, these “Christians” in Russia, and also those invading Ukraine, are actively persecuting Catholics and Protestants because they aren’t Russian Orthodox. In Ukraine, in fact, they have kidnapped, tortured and executed pastors, taken over churches, targeted non-ROC Christian owned businesses and taken them over.

What does Russia return to if it returns to its pre-Communist past?

The answer: Just another form of barbarism which is its historical norm.

Folks, the fact is, if Putin had invaded Iraq and before the invasion Iraq had over 2 million Christians and after less than 300,000, I would hate Putin. Yet, I think I have some problem, because I am not hating Bush for facilitating the Muslim genocide against Christians in Iraq!!! And, in the same problem, I am not hating America for having a president, Obama, who has facilitated the Muslim genocide against Christians in Syria!!

So you blame Bush for ISIS, like the Democrats, and are attracted to Putin. What a surprise.
