Yes, the treaty was signed by BOTH governments and money changed hands to create the border as we have known it for hundreds of years (my grandparents farmed on what used to be the old Garcia “land grant” in south Texas; they paid good money for that land to the Garcias. It was not stolen.
Mr. Railton fails to mention that we are a nation of laws, which are designed to keep everyone honest and SAFE from any invader, i.e. illegal aliens or “wet backs.”
Mr. Railton and his Communist (socialist) associates are trying to take America down and are encouraging the Mexicans to help them.
We will all (Mexicans included) rue the day we allow the Communists (socialists) to take over. Mexicans will be the first to find themselves on their knees begging for sustenance. They need to go home and kick the Communists out of their country.
There were only three permanent settlements Nacodoches, Goliad and San Antonio. The American settlers that immigrated to the region became Mexican citizens, so in that sense, there were thousands of American-Mexicans. But, the region was still so sparsely populated that it did not qualify for Mexican statehood, and so, It was joined with the Mexican state of Coahuila to become the Mexican state of Coahuila y Tejas.
Yes. Money did change hands. My great grandparents bought land which they built an adobe home, with well and cultivated it. When the line was drawn the second time the ranch was divided with part in the United States and the part with the house in Mexico. The illegal wire jumpers now use the remains of that house that was so proudly and legally built and the cover of the trees to steal the American dream. They hide in the ruins until La Migra is over the hill and jump the fence.

Where’s the barf alert?
Mexicans who ended up on the American side of the border in the territory we took over, as well as those in the Gasden purchase, are the only people who ended up in America without their consent who received citizenship and legal title to their lands (Native Americans and black slaves being the others).
We didn’t kill the Mexicans who lived in California, Arizona and so forth nor force them off their land. Just gave them citizenship and left alone.
That is actually far better than many nations do when they take over land and drive out the locals.
I think we’re all really tired of politicians that have fallen for the left’s song and dance of
“you better not tell the truth about us or our policies or people will think you’re mean!”
Our modern immigration laws and system are fraught and broken, and there are no simple solutions or next steps.
This politically correct idiot can’t even cope with naming the problem so of course, the idiot (or liar) sees no solution because he wants to continue with business as usual. He does not mind America being ravished by disease and murdered, raped and pillaged by the 370k criminal illegals wandering our streets. And those are the only ones the Feds will admit to releasing upon the public they are supposed to be serving and protecting.
I waiting for the WMD and ISIS fighters who crossed the open border to take their shot at us complements of our elites’ political correctness mental illness. In the meantime, Homeland inSecurity names all it’s political enemies and US Veterans as the major threat of terrorism in the US.
I am confused. I read the article and it is my understanding from my history classes in school that we won all that land in a war that Mexico was dumb enough to start. If I am wrong; could someone please correct me.
I think Polk was the instigator. Many American interests in texas
“Trump added the argument that tremendous infectious disease is pouring across the border, among other extreme assertions.”
