A Medford police detective has been placed on administrative leave after he was caught on video threatening to “blow a hole through your f---ing head” while pulling over a driver who drove the wrong way at a traffic circle.

Medford Police Chief Leo Sacco confirmed to Boston.com that the man in the video was Medford Police Detective Stephen Lebert.

“He’s a 30-year member of the department and works in our detective division,” Sacco said. “He’s a very effective police officer but last night’s incident that’s on video, at least that portion of the video that I saw, is troubling to say the least.”

A lingering fear -- and it still may be realized before he's evicted from office -- is that the illegal hussien regime will still impose the metric system on the Republic

I'm more worried about The Decabet.

Agreed - and if years of working a tough beat make them jaded, then move them to a different precinct. The cop is lucky this wasn’t TX or other states with many CC citizens. His actions could have landed him 6 feet under.

Same officer, different day

Wow, what a prick! I'll bet he's not smiling now.

The driver could have killed someone. I can understand the cop having an overload of adrenaline to cope with.

Just wow. After watching the video I'd be willing to bet he instead had an overload of single malt.

Maybe that’s why they can retire in 20 years.

Probably more a union negotiation point, but given what can happen over 20 years, maybe not a terrible idea.

Try TXDuke who will defend anything a cop will do.

You are correct! According to them, if the police decide they want to kill you, they should be able to do so without any negative consequences to them. If one commits such heinous crimes as jay walking, not respecting the cop’s authority, or riding a motorcycle, one deserves to be shot on sight.

All circles are counter clockwise here in states.

We drive on the correct side of the road.

Correct roads are not roundabouts, another bad idea brought over from Europe, enthralling control freaks.

Wow! That post blew right over your head. Sometimes a sarc tag is just not needed (I thought). Guess you prove me wrong.

Just read your post #35. Thanks FRiend.

Appreciate your courteous comeback when I admit my bad stumble and came clean about it. I've been on the other end of a misunderstanding and was taken to task by some FReepers over this line in one of my posts:

Let me ask the cognoscenti (a big word for FReepers) here for their thoughts on...

Quite a few assumed that I was denigrating the intelligence of FReeperdom by that phrasing. In hindsight, it was indeed poorly worded, since my intent could have been better expressed like this:

Let me ask the cognoscenti (a polysyllabic synonym for FReepers) here for their thoughts on...

By the way, Blueflag, whom I wrongly accused took it all quite well and we patched things up in FReepmail.

No problem on my end. I don’t always use a sarcasm tag myself, I just assume people will know I’m being sarcastic. But when you don’t hear someone’s voice it’s easier to miss.

” Isn’t that what we will hear from those who defend the police 100% of the time?”

Can you name any that defend the police 100% of the time?

TexasGator, I thought that you POSSIBLY may have simply hated bikers based upon your jihad related to the Waco fiasco. But perhaps your motivation is solely your love of police.

In the proper places, roundabouts are great, and eliminate the need fro stop signs. We have a couple on the street where I live. Originally, there were traffic lights, which was ridiculous, and then there were stop signs. The roundabouts are great in the context of the street where I live.

It's the SPEED BUMPS that are ridiculous. Any obstacle that requires you to slow down BELOW the speed limit is asinine. They also cause excessive wear and tear on vehicles, and they may prevent the timely arrival of emergency vehicles.

For instance, suppose you're having a heart attack: the 30 extra seconds or so that the ambulance might take (because of the speed bumps) could easily cost someone their life.

Additionally, how would you like to be someone with a spinal injury leaving such a neighborhood in an emergency vehicle? There is a significantly elevated risk of aggravated an already severe injury.

Thus, speed bumps on public roads are totally idiotic, IMHO. If they really want to slow people down on a street, municipalities should put in a stop sign or some such.
