When we first unveiled Windows 10 in September, we outlined our plans for a new era of Windows. We wanted to create a Windows that empowered people and organizations to do great things. Our vision was one platform, one store, and one experience that extends across the broadest range of devices from the smallest screens to the largest screens to no screens at all.

For Microsoft, Windows 10 begins to deliver on our vision for more personal computing. In this world experiences are mobile, moving with you seamlessly and easily across your devices. Interacting with technology is as natural as interacting with people – using voice, pen, gestures and even gaze for the right interaction, in the right way, at the right time. And in our connected and transparent world, we respect your privacy and help protect your information.

From the beginning, Windows 10 has been unique – built with feedback from five million Windows Insiders, delivered as a service with ongoing innovations and security updates, and offered as a free upgrade* to genuine Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 customers.

Thanks !
I’m NOT very tech savvy and don’t need all the bells and whistles for what I use my laptop for. Every time there’s major a update, it wrecks havoc with my laptop and I don’t even understand, nor need/want what Windows 10 is offering.

Nawh, I just struggled with WINDOWS for 30 through my military career, listening to others tell me that Apple was WORTH THE COST, and I didn;t believe them.

Finally I-Mac went on sale at the BX, and I bought one.

I'll NEVER GO BACK to the VIRUS and SPYWARE RIDDEN WINDOWS.
The cost of trying to keep WINDOWS secure is WAY TOO MUCH, and WAY TOO BIG A HEADACHE !

I started WINDOWS in during windows 3.1 in about 1981-82, throughout until I Bought my I-MAC in the Fall-Winter of 2011, and run Parallels with WINDOWS until I learned Apple.
I still have WINDOWS on my I=MAC, but I rarely access it.
Occasionally I have to go back for tax information on old records.
But I'm DONE WITH WINDOWS.
To continue34 using a leaky Operating System that is DESIGN WITH HOLES IN FROM THE START IS JUST STUPID.

That's a nice trick. The first IBM PC came out in 1981, running DOS. Windows 3.1 didn't show up until 1992.

Making up stories again?
Here we have a guy that has never used Windows 10, was never part of the extended Windows 10 beta program, has never even bothered to read anything about the great reviews that Windows 10 has received from some of the most respected technology writers/publications, but then feels free to post total nonsense IN CAPS no less on a Windows 10 thread. It's no surprise Apple fan boys are considered retarded. You are either on drugs or just escaped from the crazy house. Go get treatment mate.

Atari 800, then Atari1600, then ATI 33 DX, then another P.C. ( I forget the name), then Toshiba Satellite A75, then I-MAC.
Now you tell me what operating systems came with those,

It's no surprise the WINDOW USERS just don't know HOW SCREWED THEY ARE, having to buy all that CRAP that MICROSOFT SELLS to "FIX" WINDOWS !
THEN YOU HAVE TO "UPGRADE IT" EVERY 2 YEARS.
HOW STUPID CAN YOU GET ? ! ? ! ?

One other thing; the Atari 600: if you typed in over 20 pages of double spaced text of a "Term-Paper", it "LOCKED UP" (Memory FULL).
It was a real pain in the butt, backing out of that "LOCK-UP" .

No, it won’t be automatically installed. If you did not pre-order the upgrade using that button, then you won’t be sent one, and even if you do get a download, the install is interactive so you have to click yes...

Keep pouring money into a INTENTIONALLY INCOMPLETE and broken Operating System !

Windows has indeed put out a couple of OS’s that were not exactly the cats meow, (like ME) but I have only purchased one paid for update and that was windows 7, when it first came out and Ive been running it ever since for several years now..

In fact the computers I have running it are just about too old to update to 10 but since it’s free...I am taking it.

So 95% of the time, I upgrade OS’s at the same time I buy new gear. I have spent no money other than that one upgrade for 90 bucks. I too started with 3.2 and DOS, and then went to 95.....etc

What crap?

They don’t sell anything to fix windows..They come out with a new OS..same thing apple does, but Microsoft generally makes a lot more changes..keeping up with the needs and wants of customers.

Apple is a vertically integrated prison that you place yourself in. It’s just you and the apple store..can’t even buy a non-apple part.

That’s is not my thing..reminds me of AMWAY....lol
