Mr. Foote is rolling over in his grave to see what this has become. This political correctness and fear of a certain segment of society like the revisionists will soon erase any history at their whim. They need to be stopped!
Also, the term “American” reminds students of their heritage of independence, liberty, freedom, individuality. Globalists don’t like those concepts, they like slaves.
I’ve read it several times, and, am in the middle of Vol 2 as an audio (just finished Gettysburg).

I forgot to remind you that Common Core mandates the change from “American history” to “United States” history. Common Core merely embraced that concept that has been around for at least ten years, and is making it nationwide.
