Nothing Unites Special Interests Like a Common Enemy…

by sundance

Donald Trump is leading all the regional and national polls. Two recent polls show Trump beating both Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush in Miami Florida.

Those who are open to see how Machiavellian the Republican party has become since the Citizens United decision are about to see it play out.

donald trump bannerHowever, before you can see what’s going on – you first have to be willing to see what’s going on.

The ability to accept ‘what is’ has become the primary sticking point for the majority of political followers who are fraught with Stockholm syndrome and willful blindness.

Those who can accept the painful truth without agenda, have read the reason why I find myself supporting Donald Trump. I personally support him as a strategy to defeat the professional political class that is Washington DC. Conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin put it well recently when he shared:

If the hierarchy within the republican party loses an election to Democrats it’s only a lost election; they are still there, and still comfortable even in the minority.

However, if the hierarchy within the republican party loses an election to Conservatives, they are out of a job.

That’s why the professional political class within the republican party, the GOPe, are more at risk from within than without. That’s also why the GOPe work harder to defeat conservatives than democrats.

When you accept this simple truth you are able to accept the reality that unorthodox political methods are necessary in order to defeat the GOPe. That very unorthodoxy is what makes Donald Trump so valuable. Trump is the pry-bar to remove the rot within the GOPe. Similarly the lack of establishment bona fides also makes Trump a risk, and therefore a target.

On the day Trump announced his candidacy, we stated the NUMBER ONE JOB was to insure Trump knew he held support from the conservative electorate. As we enter this most dangerous phase, the phase where the GOPe takes lead on the attack, that supportive sentiment takes on an even greater sense of urgency.

Some will want Donald Trump to advocate for specific policy positions, or solutions. Those same voices will use the lack of specifically outlined solutions as a weapon against his campaign.

However, those of us with eyes-wide-open will remember the Reagan value in framing large ideas with stark contrasts, before entering the realm of the special interests. Big-tent unity is afforded in the former approach, divisiveness exists in the latter.

The GOPe approach -eliminating Trump- is dependent upon divisiveness as a tool, until they can get their guy into place. Then the GOPe will demand unity to support their guy. Mr. Donald Trump would be well served to avoid giving the GOPe the tool they want.

The Risk Phase – As the August 6th primary debate draws closer, the GOPe will work diligently to seed -and project- a very specific, highly explosive, label onto Trump. They need to define him ASAP.

If Trump escapes the first round of debates without definition, the risk he represents grows even larger.

Right now candidate Donald Trump would do well to stay low, yet stay on message, until the debate stage itself. Various GOPe methods are going to be deployed to attach the necessary divisive label prior to next Friday’s debate.

tom donohueThe GOPe will want Trump on his heels as he takes center stage surrounded by the more palatable candidates to Tom Donohue (President, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and DC chess master).

The historical approach has been for the GOPe to begin pitching “social issue” questions to the guy they want removed. Questions about legalized drugs get the libertarians; questions about gender issues target women; questions about abortion and faith target evangelicals; etc. These approaches are all targeted to remove a segment of support. Political death by a thousand paper cuts.

Meanwhile within the larger Conservative movement the aforementioned fearful voices, infected with Stockholm Syndrome from sellers who tell you only a professional politician can solve political problems, will advocate for “their guy”.

Their guy might be Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Rand Paul or Chris Christie. Or, for the smaller fish, it might be Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Bobby Jindal or even Rick Perry. What’s important to remember is that regardless of where the candidate lands on the slide rule of conservative advocacy, the slide rule itself is owned/operated by the GOPe.

Eventually, like Romney, all controlled paths lead to Jeb.

Dividing/Fracturing the electorate is part of the strategy to get to Jeb as overall winner with 15% of the electorate. This is why Team Donohue placed wedges (Perry, Kasich, Rubio) within the larger electoral states (Texas, Ohio, Florida). Just like Romney ’12, all controlled paths lead to Jeb ’16.

When you understand this, when you stop playing the role of co-dependent enabler; when you stop being willfully blind and recognize the political parties within DC are two sides of the same coin, you begin to see how to defeat the Donohue/GOPe plan.

Additionally, when you understand this, when you fully recognize the investment that Donohue/GOPe has put into this, you begin to see the full scope of the risk that is Donald Trump; and, as a direct consequence, the extent the professional political class will be willing to go in order to keep themselves employed and seated at the political trough.

Losing to a Democrat (Hillary) keeps the GOP employed. Losing to a conservative, or to a main street non-political like Trump, removes them.

megyn kelly 1Megyn Kelly announced last night she has a scheduled interview with Donald Trump on Monday August 3rd. Megyn Kelly interrupted her FOX News broadcast live to deliver the BREAKING Daily Beast article attack about Trump and ridiculous rape allegations.

Kelly led off her show the following evening with discussion about Trump’s attorney remarks in response.

It would appear Kelly has an interest in spotlighting Trump around an inferred position of sexism. This is not accidental.

Kelly has a history of self-promotion by making herself the story inside the story, as she did with Jeb Bush and the interview segment: “knowing what you know now, was it a mistake to go into Iraq”? etc. Megyn Kelly enjoys being the center hub amid the wheels of divisive interests.

Trump would be well advised to avoid that Monday interview like the plague.

If Trump is the only way to avoid ¡Yeb!, so be it.

At least Trump loves America.
More than I can say for the current Occupant.
¡Yeb! loves Mexico so much he wants the USA to become North Mexico.

And Gilmore of VA just jumped in today!

The Conservative treehouse is an excellent resource, and “sundance” is usually on target.

I didn’t understand Gilmore getting in to such an already crowded field, but after reading the article it became obvious.

Yes it is...and I suddenly don’t find Megyn Kelly so interesting anymore.

What a nest of vipers in D.C. I hope DT hangs on - who else can take out the snakes?

Great piece...thanks for posting. The entire article is well written, with so many excellent points (about the GOPe attacks, best strategies, etc.)...and very well worth the read.

Here is just one stand out point...

...The Risk Phase – As the August 6th primary debate draws closer, the GOPe will work diligently to seed -and project- a very specific, highly explosive, label onto Trump. They need to define him ASAP.

If Trump escapes the first round of debates without definition, the risk he represents grows even larger.

Trump and Cruz as a team is something I'd like to see. There's alot of potential there.

Thanks, I’m glad I posted it.

The “Risk Phase” did stand out. I get the impression that Trump defines Trump, and The GOPe can pound sand as far as he’s concerned. I think he knows what’s lined up against him and he has a plan to marginalize or even destroy it.

I would say sundance is a genius, plain and simple, capable of using straTEGERY to OUR benefit, rather than the Establishment and their players, and their candidate.

Trump got OFF message in Scotland, and sucked in to an elaboration that ran amok. He got away from “framing the large idea with stark contrast”, and fell right into the “divisive” trap of yakking it up about specifics!

Just as sundance pointed out, the divisiveness comes with media probing for specifics. Trump had rocketed skyward saying he would address nothing on immigration until he secured the border, nicely avoiding the trap, and delivering the contrast of current chaos and dangers of the Obama open border.

Megyn Kelly is not ten feet tall. She needs to be handled by Trump and not the other way around.

Fortunately, Trump’s ego is as outsized as hers, so maybe he can blow passed her trap setting talents. She is no Dana Bash, that’s for sure. She is smart. So is Trump. And he’s seen them all.
