For about the 12th year, one of Free Republic's members is pleased to create a Yahoo! Pick'em Fantasy Football league.
The league rules are simple:
** Pick the winners of each game
** Assign a confidence value to each game
** Post messages to each other on the message board that include bad puns
** Donate generously to Free Republic at the end of the season in the name of the top point earner
That's about it. No drafting, no cash outlay except to Free Republic, and LOTS of Monday morning quarterbacking.
It is a wonderful time waster that really doesn't take much time. I tend to pick all the games in preseason for all 17 weeks, then look them over to decide if I really want that pick.
Simple, easy, with no wagering and lots of fun.
The team number this year is 167 - "FINO - Football in NameOnly".
Drop that in the team number and FReepmail me for the password.

It's fun and positively delicious to describe how wonderful this season will be when the judge rules Goodell sane and suspends Brady for 16 games, for trying to sully the good name of this most unblemished, virginal name in all of sports.

I am posting just to make FReepers aware of the game, in case anyone really likes fantasy football without the complexity. I generally don't post after football season starts and keep to the team message board.
I understand that Bender2 has joined us this year.
We have had as many as two dozen FReepers play on the team, and that seems to be a great number of folks.
We can still add more if you want to join us.

It’s not really Fantasy Football. You have no team or such. It is just a “pick the winners” each week type pool. Lots of fun and friendly banter. It’s a blast.

Bender, sometimes you worry me.
I've done well with the yahoo nascar leagues in the past, regularly running in the top 99% except for the last season I played when I got bored and basically quit halfway through. Hopefully some of that will transfer over to football.
