True story.
Bit overdone though.

Stony River was one of my favorites when I was working in ATL.
If you walk out of there hungry, it’s your own fault.

Dang, should have known it was you telling this story! Yep, the Great American Land and Cattle Co. had an awesome steak selection and the dining room was wonderful, too.
Did they have that Elk head in the stairwell when you were there? His chin was shoulder high at the landing, and at the top of the second flight of stairs the tips of his antlers still seemed to be at eye-level.

Nevada ==> Del Frisco's Double Eagle.
No, it's not in a "chic" casino. It's just GOOD.
And if you want a bit of 'old' Las Vegas, Bob Taylor's.
Concur re: Sullivan's in Delaware.

That would be the Steak Out in Sonoita; it burned down a few years back. They’ve since rebuilt it. Homebody that I am, we’ve never been there.

For Oklahoma they chose Cattleman’s in Oklahoma City. Its pretty good but I always preferred Ken's Steakhouse in Amber. Open only Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, you may find yourself waiting to get in even in February. Their prime ribs are to die for. And for an appetizer they give you a smoked rib.

The Char in Beckley is light-years better than any Outback. There's a little joint in downtown Martinsburg called "Boyds" that serves an excellent steak.

I don’t recall seeing the cooking times, we ate there quite a while ago — but yes, that’s the place where you move to a different room for your dessert.
And when we visited years ago, we learned that the waitstaff is on a 1 year training period, where they wear a slightly different outfit from the regular staff and make sure they’re completely knowledgeable and professional, before they let them run tables by themselves.

Lowake Steak House. Out in the middle of the cottonfields of Nowhere, Texas between Abilene and San Angelo. Superb aged steaks.

Thank you both on the info on “The Steak Out” in Sonoita. I went there during MIOAC back in 82.

The best steak in MA is at Durgin Park in Boston.Wow, that name brings back some memories. Is Durgin Park still around? The last time I was there was in the late 1960s.

Bern’s Steakhouse in Tampa is a must. At least to say you have been there and had a fantastic meal. Prepare to drop $150 - $200 per couple if you do wine and the desert room. I was quite surprised to see a wine on the list for $15,000.00 p/bottle! Way out of my league.

Well, since you didn’t extend me an invitation for a steak off your grill, I ate at Wolf Lodge Inn this summer while on our vacation. I would recommend it highly. I can now understand why the parking lot is always jammed.

Gibsons here in Chicago is always worth a stop. It does lighten the wallet, tho. Aside from that a hand cut Porterhouse about 1-1/4” thick from Jonny Gs, the local butcher we use, is just about as good as it gets.
Medium rare done over real chunk charcoal, chimney starter of course, rested for 5 minutes and then eat.
Sublime.

Bunker Hill is not that far from me. I'll have to check it out. Did you read the reviews on the link? It must have a nice atmosphere given how it ticked off the liberal reviewers from KC. How dare anyone offend their precious little political sensitivities?
Not a steak dinner but IMO the best eats on the Kansas section of I-70 is the Brookville Hotel in Abilene. The best fried chicken dinner anywhere - the only menu item.
