I've been trying to figure out why Rush is doing daily Trump clean up exercises (latest was his Friday deconstruction and then reframing of Trump's less than stellar performance on Hugh Hewitt's show), along with his breathless cheerleading; it's not the Rush Limbaugh Show anymore, it has become the The Donald Show.
Then this morning I read that Megachurch Pastor Paula White has married her 3rd husband (she's his 4th) = 6 marriages. I'd looked her up because she's a good friend of Donald Trump (promotes his books and he promotes her) who is going to arrange a sit down with Trump and other evangelical leaders.
So, it dawns on me this is a mutual promotion society we're watching.
Limbaugh's EIB audience (reportedly) has been shrinking recently, so what better way to build it back up with some new blood than by jumping on the Trump wave?
Trump tweets that Rush is talking about him and Rush reports that Trump is tweeting about him and they're off to the piggy bank races.

Excellent point. Please give me some negative publicity about Trump, I’m obviously reading and listening to media that Rush hasn’t heard either. Any leads?

If Trump increases Rush’s ratings, so what?
Rush is a talk show host, not a journalist or a reporter.
His “millstone” is based on ratings.
And his hundreds of broadcast stations(and jobs) depend on ratings too.
Because the only reason anyone even knows who Walker is results from him going Trump on the public employee unions ! Can’t you see that? The only reason anyone even knows who Christie is (or was, in his case) is for going Trump on the east coast libtard media. The only reason anyone knows Cruz and Paul is for going Trump on the dopes in the Senate. None of them have the resources or faculties or stamina to go Trump every day on every subject until the election. They’d all be on defense from minute one and lose like McCain or Romney or Dole.
You, your allies here and the pros on TV and in the newspapers are ruining our own chance to win. Unless all you care about is going all Edmund Burke on everyone while the country circles the drain, what exactly is the point? You’re making common cause with Media Matters and Code Pink at this point. Were you the lady that called Rush this week with this same stuff?
Trump has a chance to be POTUS - none of the others do obviously, they can’t even handle Trump with the whole GOPe, National Review, FoxNews, the Federalist, RedState, Weekly Standard, etc. etc. etc. pulling every string they can for them. Trump is the best we could hope to get - by miles and miles. If Thatcher were running you might have a point, but she isn’t and besides, Thatcher could handle Trump - no one in this fight can. Do you just want to be pure ? Do you even think about Elizabeth Warren becoming President as she waltzes in with $15billion worth of free media 24/7 adulation and you’ve all wrecked the one with a chance to fight against that?

Its a reason why I like him. I would have never known about the accomplishments but for Rush.

Personally, I sorta like it when Rush talks up Trump. I want to hear the latest news from his perspective, as it’s good news. It’s like a major world war going on, and people are looking at the news everyday to see how our army is doing in the battles. We enjoy seeing the battles that have been won knowing they will lead to victory.
This country has been under siege for decades now. Trump represents leadership that will take our country back.
So yes, I listen to Rush, and I actually want to hear more GOOD NEWS.

Maybe Rush is promoting Trump because they both love America. Logic like that does tend to hurt the less mentally agile.

I love Rush, he played an instrumental part of teaching me the value of conservatism. Rush doesn’t need to pump ratings into his show he is the best in the business and people are always going to tune in to hear what he has to say. That being said, I find his constant cheerleading of Trump annoying. Rush doesn’t endorse candidates until the primary is over, but he seems to be infatuated with Trump right now and I wouldn’t mind, but Trump is not a true conservative and is a political chameleon and opportunist who is cashing in on the angst over Obama and the ruling elite in this country.
like him or not, culture has just merged with the political arena, making it the most interesting, politically incorrect campaign in recent memory. Rush is a culture expert. We all know there are scores of yout’s in their mom’s basement tuning into Rush every day just to catch him in a mistake. who knows how many voters he will influence on the dem’RAT side by pointing out how EVIL the GOPe has become.
Good on Rush - if the media were doing their job, that is, if we even HAD a media, both Rush and Trump would be irrelevant. Reading some of the old stories about Trump (e.g. Wollman Rink in Central Park) you gotta like the guy. He gets things done! While I might not want him as my candidate, I’d rather have him than a Bush, Kasich, Rubio or Rand. America has had all the reaching across the aisle it can take.
Trump defines a portion of our culture. Rush reports what people are interested in.
We finally get a real conservative who does what he promises (after being elected) he stands up to all the power on both sides of the aisle, and we waste time on all the other 16. Cruz is the only guy out there for me. He had the money to hold out while the others fall off. I don’t know why Rush (who I love to listen to) is spending all this time on Trump when there is his perfect candidate right in front of him. I think he just likes people who are in the face of the other side, and elites. As do I however Cruz does it with reason not bluster. Just sayin...
