Youve heard this one before and youre about to hear it again. Congressional Republicans make a deal with President Obama that ostensibly cuts federal spending. Thats what the headlines will proclaim. But in reality, the budget deal - which in this case looks to be in effect for two years - will raise spending in the short term and save all the supposed cuts for the out years. Ever wonder when those out years are going to arrive? Ha! Well have hoverboards first. Real ones. But for now weve got something that will allow John Boehner to get out of town while proudly declaring to the media that he avoided a debt ceiling showdown.
Thats all this is good for, and that aint much:
The final amount of the spending increases has not been finalized, nor have the spending offsets and aides warned the deal could change substantially depending on how members respond. The proposal being negotiated would set the top-line spending numbers and give the House and Senate Appropriations Committees until Dec. 11 to decide how it should be parceled out among federal agencies and programs.

So Democrats who never gave a $#%$# about budgets now push for a two-year now that their fuehrer is on his way out. And I don’t hear a damn word about it in msm.
Spend more now. Cuts are always down the road. Thus, the rise of anti GOPe.
Flash!!!! The cuts are always in the ‘out years’.
And there goes John Boehner out the door. Mission complete, two year deal to negate the effect of the conservative base to affect spending and budget. Just hand the keys to the kingdom over to the executive branch.
no wonder bonehead is willing to leave.
He would give Obama cover for the remainder of his term with this deal!
Boneheads job of protecting Obama would be finished and he can leave office knowing he did everything possible to protect Obama.
Spending hikes today, cuts tomorrow. It’s always today, tomorrow never comes.
“Ever wonder when those out years are going to arrive? Ha! Well have hoverboards first. Real ones. “
The cuts come in year 3-4 of the next administration. If it is a democrat rat president, they get a new budget deal or continuation which kicks the can down the road. If it is a republican rat president, it will be used against him in the election and then gets kicked down the road.
The spending cuts will never come. Period.
Our government is useless. We need to scrap them all and start all over.
I guess that I don’t understand? The budget isn’t based on time (2 years), it’s based on amount. So, how can it be tied to a date? It seems likely to me that they would run right through the ceiling of such an agreement when the country can no longer pay it’s bills, not at the end of 2 year span of time.
Screwed again!
What happened to those cuts they promised us years ago they would do in the future? /rhetorical
