” Trump supporters always end up bashing Ronald Reagan.”

Absolutely 100% wrong. Reagan knew how to make a deal. So things didn’t go 100% for the guy but does anyone ever get 100%. I supported Reagan growing up in the 80’s. I will always support Reagan. The thing about Reagan was that he empowered the people through nationalism and patriotism. The music in the eighties spoke to this with songs like Born in the USA by Springsteen. People were proud to be Americans and they would have defended this country down to every last soul. Now there is no sense of either nationalism nor patriotism. If we want to make America great again, give the power back to the people like Reagan did. The only candidate that I see wanting that back again is Trump, sad to say that but it is true. As long as the candidate satisfies all Constitutional qualifications to be president and is going to empower the people again with nationalism and patriotism where we bring back jobs to our shores, smaller government, get rid of the H1-B scams, secures our borders and makes our country safer than it is now and set in motion to fix our ecnomy, I could care less if he or she is a one-eye on-horn purple people eater from the planet Nimbu. Wait they have to have at least some sense of sanity to them. Well that disqualifies the majority of the candidates.

But he’s also for amnesty (with a touchback provision).

That’s my biggest issue with Trump.

Still, as long as we get Trump or Cruz as the nominee, I’ll be happy.

You get your information somewhere different from me; McConnell “proved we can govern” by giving Obama everything he wanted.

The word of the day is ludicrous.

So foolish, unreasonable, or out of place as to be amusing; ridiculous.

The more Donald Trump speaks, the more ludicrous he is shown to be.

“Let’s get things done. “ Starting to sound like a McConnell sock puppet.

Let's ensure nothing positive gets done so all the bad stuff stays in effect - sounds like Dingy Harry and Plastic Nancy.....

Do we really have all the idiots it looks like we have "on our side"?????

Get some Oxygen - the do something useful...

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate (even if he's "rich enough to do it on his own") as the next President.
I donate to the candidate I support and you should too, else, your "support" really doesn't have any meaning.

It's even worse if you use FR and don't donate. If you are one of those who feel it's OK to use FR daily w/o helping pay to keep the lights on, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches because, functionally, you are no different than any other who enjoys the fruits of others' work for your own benefit. Also, don't be surprised if others decide that your opinions are as worthless as your non-donations - hypocrites aren't worth listening to.

PS - If you are one of those unlucky few who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

Donate to FR

Uh-huh. That sounds so much like Mitch McConnel’s pitch, and it really put a smile on Chuck Schumer’s face just a month ago. Not sure what all the other stuff about contributing to FR is about; I’ve been doing it for years myself

Where does Trump get his orange skin? Is it jaundice or that other nAsty disease that rots the brain. Anyone?

Onyx is right, HP. We were close enough to him to shake his hand at his rally here on the Coast, and we watched him give his speech from less than 20 feet directly in front of him. We can assure you that his skin is not "orange." He has very good skin, in fact; good, healthy color, tone and texture.

It's super easy to manipulate the color of published photographs. If you want to make someone's skin look "orange," that's quite simple to do.

I should have added you to my comment #108. Mr. Trump's skin is not orange--not even close.

Manipulation of published photographs designed to make someone look bad is as old as the hills, but we saw him up close, in person, and his skin is very good.

McConnell “proved we can govern” by giving Obama everything he wanted.

You think Obama got everything he wanted? Not even close. Why do you think he is doing so many EO’s? If he was getting everything he wanted, EO’s would not be necessary for Obama. The Democrats are very frustrated with the Republicans for not doing what they wanted.

“Donald Trump: Establishment ‘warming up’ to me”

Next, watch for a lot of conservatives bailing out on him.

I’ve been leaning toward him over Cruz mainly over his more effective style and the fact that he was going hard after the establishment and the media, but after he started taking McConnell side over Cruz, I’m having a lot of second thoughts.

Basically I have come to a point where I have no confidence that I can believe anything he says.

Apparently you didn’t know that Bruce Springsteen didn’t like Reagan using that song. And it was meant to be an anti American song. Sad but true.

“...”You know what? There’s a point at which: Let’s get to be a little establishment,” Trump told the crowd at the South Point resort and casino. “We’ve got to get things done folks, OK? Believe me, don’t worry. We’re going to make such great deals.”...”

Wish I could say I was surprised. I’m sure someone will be along shortly to “rationalize” this away. Awesome...

“...Would you object to that deal if Cruz wanted to be on the Supreme Court...”

It would depend on the deal — Has Trump said what, if anything, is *absolutely* off the negotiating table? If the dems balk on his border plan (and they will), what would Trump be willing to give up to get that deal done? What rights and principles would he allow (further) infringement upon, by legislation and/or executive policy? Assault rifle ban? Right to life? Personal property? Fairness doctrine? etc...

As much as I would be happy to see Cruz as one of the (up to) three SCOTUS appointments likely to be made in the next term, there are *plenty* of “NYC-Values” that would make that deal objectionable. It would depend on the deal and what Trump is willing to negotiate away in advancing his agenda.

I’d love to hear his list of things he will adamantly keep *well* off the table. It’s probably a pretty short list.

I am not comforted by the the ‘establishment’ warming up to Trump.

Rather alarming, IMHO.
