If you’re a conservative, and you dare to utter even the merest suggestion that Donald Trump is anything other than a staunch constitutionalist, watch out. You’re about to be hit with a blast from the Trump loyalists’ artillery battalion. They can fire the word RINO at you 500 times in just under a minute, so it’s a formidable force.

It’s much easier to just sit back and let The Donald say things like this:

Eminent domain is constitutional.

So, really eminent domain is not a problem. If is when eminent domain is not according to constitutional requirements that it is a problem.

Most conservatives, for example, want a wall/fence on the border. The only way to achieve that is by taking property, if I understand the debate correctly. I’m assuming the Fed would want about the same width of property as was taken for the interstate highway system.

The real issue is whether eminent domain can be used in the same way as zoning laws are used.

As the days go by, more and more of the Establishment show their true colors.

Today, Bret Stephens at the WSJ Editorial Page tore into Cruz in a very personal content-free way. I like Stephens’ perspective on international relations and a strong America. But he totally lost all perspective in his unhinged, unbalanced, irrational and venomous attack. I guess I have to write off Stephens.
