I am sick of voting for staunchly conservative republicans who campaign on stopping Obama and then reading about them giving Obama more power via the Corker Bill, TPA and fully funding all his pet projects. Never mind that a large part of the reason for the Iraq war was the same as the excuses for the war on Libya...and never mind that Trump's assertion that the mideast was "stable" with Saddam in power is pure fantasy - Saddam was a Sunni running a minority Sunni regime in a majority Shiite country by murdering thousands of his own people every year to keep them terrorized into submission - he had managed to best Shiite Iran in two wars previously with the help of the US, but we were not going to help him again after his excursion into Kuwait and his repeated defiance of the peace agreement ending that war - his military was badly demoralized and degraded after that war - remember the "Highway of Death" back into Baghdad from Kuwait and the pictures of thousands of burned out trucks and civilian vehicles along the way - there seems little doubt that had we not gone into Iraq, by now it would have been overrun by Iran several years ago, Saddam deposed, and Iran in control of its population, oil, and the 500 tons of yellowcake uranium Saddam had amassed on his way to nukes - the real chance for stability in the region came with our remaining strong there, but Obama threw that away....
