One can be a Christian and not be evangelical.

Some may not like that. But it is true.

Then explain Cruz’s second place in almost every poll? Obviously it’s not just evangelicals and charismatics that like him.

Does he still make the claim?

Not that I have ever heard.

Is Cruz the only true Conservative in the Senate? Why hasn’t one senator endorsed him? Something very odd here.

Cruz continues to gather all the right enemies.

One thing I learned in a class on logic was that if someone is reliably wrong, that can be as useful as if they are reliably right (assuming the logic is binary). Sometimes I use that in elections. My liberal newspaper knows local candidates better than I. So if they endorse someone, I don’t vote for that person.

People on the left live for politics. Government (referred to as “We”) is always the solution. When they really “like” someone, vote against that person. When they really “hate” that person, vote for him.

Technically, the “argument from authority” is a fallacy. So an argument from anti-authority is too. Yes, it is the evidence that counts. But leftists do have a pronounced sense of smell when it comes to ideology. As you might trust a bomb-sniffing dog to get it right, you can trust leftists to get it wrong.

By the way, ACU lifetime ratings:
Cruz - 100%
Rubio - 97%
Trump - no rating

which King compares to an Islamic Imam....

Cause it was just like yesterday that we heard about these fundamentalists cutting off people's heads.

The Problem with Stephen King is not Fundamental, it's Mental.

"I do think there is an over riding Anti Christian bias against Cruz."

No question about it.

Just look at "why" GWB was so hated by the left.

It wasn't just that he was "dumb", "a monkey", "lied us into Iraq".

No, the real reason that was often stated was that GWB was Christian, and didn't hide it.

. Look at that 2000 debate question: Who is your favorite philosopher, and why?

Bush said: "Christ. Because he changes lives."

In a sane world, that would be that.

Very reasonable answer. Hardly crazy.

. But what happened?

The left went nuts.

As they always do.

They've done quite a job on the American people.

"Christians" are hated and distrusted even more than muslims by the liberal elite.

I hate that fact, but the liberals pretty much control the dialogue in this country. Not to mention pretty much all of the "trusted" institutions.

The media, academia, the government, hell even the military.

Who would have thought that military chaplains could NOT preach Biblical teachings on issues like homosexuality?

Never thought it would happen, but apparently the American population "approves".

They voted that way, anyhow.

He’s not a “Fundamentalist”, so much as he and his loon father think he is some sort of Prophet. That’s scary....

I can't stand Stephen King but what he says is true. Cruz would never be able to take any voters away from Hillary or Bernie.

I think that if the situation is so bad that Hillary or Bernie has a chance of winning, we need to let them. Might as well burn this country down in a hurry instead of letting it slouch towards Gomorrah.

So, now, let me get this straight: supporting a candidate with a 100% ACU rating makes one a “zombie” now?

Weird.

Look, I’m not going to be bashing the Trumpening, but he’s no one’s idea of a conservative. He’s a Jacksonian populist, leading a prairie-fire revolt against “the Establishment”. That’s fine, as far as it goes, and may be what’s needed to win in November. We’ll see.

But bringing the knives out for Cruz is no way to advance the conservative cause. Argue he can’t win, fine.

But the birther nonsense, and the blind repetition of Trump’s theatrics, that isn’t serious. We don’t need to throw a lion of the conservative movement under the bus to win in November.

This kind of thing really shows how irrational people are. What does Mr. King imagine that a “fundamentalist” President Ted Cruz would do, that Mr. King would find “frightening” or otherwise intolerable?

I like Cruz. Stephen king is a left wing wacko bird. Nothing less than a communist for president will satisfy King.

I think a lot of these celebrities travel around the world and look at the fake systems in place in other countries, and assume that they are actually possible because they never bother to work out the costs with this thing called "math."

Canada is running a socialist medical system, and at first glance it looks like a success. So do many European countries who are more "socialist".

Celebrities see this stuff, and never look any deeper. They see the illusion that this stuff is working, so they assume we're just mean and backwards because we don't implement this same socialist crap that they think works so well in Europe and Canada.

Except for the fact that it doesn't. Europe and Canada both rely on us to defend them. (This is how they pay for their medical system.) Their tax rates are crazy, but they're still running out of money.

They are slowly circling the drain as a nation.

But celebrities only see the surface. They are too shallow and naive to look deeper. Especially because they want to believe in socialism.

Nothing odd, he's rocked the boat and attempted to tip over their gravy trains. The party establishment hates him because he intends to disrupt business as usual.

He is trying to force the government back to fiscal sanity, but nobody like a party pooper. They enjoy the perks of wielding great financial power over the government's money. They enjoy doling it out to this or that group or contributor.

There are probably some senators that agree with him, but they don't dare say so in earshot of the leadership or it's cronies.

Since when does a conservative or a Republican quote far-left figures like Code Pink, Michael Moore or Stephen King as a way to defend their position?

You don’t appear to be part of the conservative movement and you appear to be hostile to the Judeo-Christian values our country was founded on. You would probably be more comfortable frequenting a more liberal forum.
