When Ted Cruz visited Glenn’s house on Tuesday, Glenn took the opportunity to thank Cruz’s security detail for the job they’re doing, keeping the presidential candidate safe. Then, he put them on the spot with a question only they could answer. “Is he the real deal behind the curtain?” Glenn asked. Having a personal security detail himself, Glenn is well accustomed to situations where the most private moments are on full display to bodyguards. Glenn elaborated during his radio program on Wednesday. “You want to know who I am, you talk to my security detail,” Glenn said. “They know me because they’re with me at my worst and my best, and they see me behind stage and on stage.” Because they have a non-disclosure, security personnell aren’t supposed to answer questions like the one Glenn asked. That being said, it was the manner in which they responded, more than the words they spoke, which told Glenn everything he needed to know. “You can tell by the way people answer or don’t answer,” Glenn said. GLENN: I went up to his security detail. And I just went to thank them for the job they’re doing, keeping him safe. And then I stood there for a while. Now I know, because my security is with me on my most private moments. They have actually been in — in the room with me and my wife because they’ve had to be. Because of situations, it can get tense with my wife and I, or very intimate with my wife and I on delicate things. And so I know — you want to know who I am, you talk to my security detail. Now, they have a non-disclosure. So they can’t — but they know me because they’re with me at my worst and my best. And they see me behind stage and on stage. So I’m standing there next to his — and I know they have a non-disclosure. But you can tell by the way people answer or don’t answer. And I said, “So tell me, is he the real deal behind the curtain? Because I’m never going to see the real deal behind the curtain. In his worst moments, is he the real deal?” Immediately, without hesitation, they turned to me — we’re standing kind of in a line. They turn to me and walk in front of me and look me in the eye, and one of them — the first one said, “I have done this for a long time. I’ve protected all of them. I have never seen a man like him. No matter where he is, no matter what shape he’s in, no matter how tired, how pissed off, no matter what the scenario, I’ve never seen a man as consistently true as him. He says the same thing to your face as to your back. I’ve never seen him inconsistent.” And the other guy just kept shaking his head and said, “This guy is the real deal. He’s the real deal.”
PAT: That’s awesome.
GLENN: That was really awesome.
STU: Yeah, because I asked your security about that and they just looked up at the ceiling and ran away. I thought that was weird.
PAT: Well, they have a non-disclosure. They can’t talk about that.
GLENN: Honestly, that’s how you would respond. I can’t talk about it. That’s how you would do it.

The man is not perfect, but 90 % of the claims against him are false or outright lies...
Consider that Trump has his share of questionable deals and scams,it’s an amazing level of hypocrisy...

These are Secret Service Agents, not a private security detail. They would not lose their jobs for speaking out. They would simply be reassigned and other Agents would replace them.
We all believe that it’s a SECURITY detail that follows Glenn Beck around? Or might some of us think that it’s for the protection of the general public.
By contrast, in 1996 I was staying in the same hotel as Hillary in Athens. Her security detail was eating breakfast at the next table. So, naively, I asked how they liked working for Mrs. Clinton. No doubt they’d been asked this before as they had a ready answer: “You know, Mrs. Bush was a wonderful first lady.”
You can tell a lot regarding the [True!] character of a man, by the way he stands with the babies [and their mothers].

Laguesns says Cruz would be the biggest threat to the abortion corporation because “unlike Trump and Kasich, who are more or less in line with the Republican Party’s already terrible positions on reproductive rights, Cruz takes things much, much further.”
“And he has the fan base to prove it. About 50% of Trump’s and Kasich’s supporters think abortion should be illegal in all or most cases, but a whopping 73% of Cruz’s supporters want to ban abortion in all or most cases,” the Planned Parenthood VP complains.
Laguesns gripes that Cruz “consistently says he will open an investigation into Planned Parenthood on his first day in office. But maybe that’s less surprising when you see some of the people who have endorsed him — people like Troy Newman, the notorious anti-abortion extremist...”
It would be interesting to go back and look at the old threads about Bush and his security detail and Hillary’s guys talking about her. Of course THOSE were okay. I’m guessing RR security guys have written books too.
I vacationed at a home in Vail that was used by Ford’s SS guys across from the street from where he would stay. There was a note on the top of an inner doorway that said “Watch your head Mr. President”
At the time I thought it was real (I was young). Looking back I’m guessing it was a warning with an inside joke!

Yes, I do...but the level of vitriol is far different for Cruz, many Freepers take absolute joy in trying to destroy the man...with virtually no evidence to back them up...

If the Secret Service has set a precedent that their guards will make positive statements about people they are guarding, then what should one conclude if the guards choose to remain silent?
Either Beck is lying or someone needs to be fired. Which is it?

Thanks for the post. Security details could tell a lot of good stories, for good or for bad, about people.
On the news, we see the often sanitized versions of politicians. I would imagine that the lower level staff members in Congress could tell a lot more about their true character. I think that would be a useful piece of information, both on the left and on the right.
I wonder what this site looks like if Trump wins and totally fails to do what he has stated he would do?
Do you honestly believe that Cruz is anointed by God to lead us through the Rapture or that Gad allowed Scalia to die so Cruz could be elected? That is what this “honest...decent” Beck has said. He is a fruitcake!
