I am contemplating a used Iver Johnson 1911 in 9mm for under $400 CDN. I’d appreciate input from any and all who can list for me the advantages and disadvantages of said firearm. I plan on using it as a hiking/bush gun for defence against cougar and other unfriendly animals.
Thanks in advance. I’m leaving for work in a few minutes, and will check in again in a couple of hours, hopefully to some well-reasoned and comprehensive critiques on BOTH sides of the question.
I like you Tagline,,,
Recently switched from Glock to a CZ P-07 Duty in 9 mm. The gun is almost a twin to the Glock 19 but has a 8-9 pound double action first shot followed by about a 4 pound single action pull. The heavier trigger for the first shot gave me the confidence to carry with one in the pipe. In all honesty my CZ was a bit rough in the beginning. I sent it off to Cajun Gunworks for a bit of work and now have a pistol that I can love.
So its got a bite block on the back instead of grips, huh? Clever!
Lucky for me I’m a cheap SOB. I put a hasp and padlock on my freezer and called it a gun safe! Now I just need to find an extension cord.
