The fact that blacks don't camp doesn't mean usage of parks isn't "diverse", though I don't know why that matters. Midnight basketball isn't diverse either. I've noted large national parks often have substatial numbers of asian and european visitors. I sometimes wonder why more Americans don't visit
Black folks don’t like the great outdoors. They generally don’t like any type of insect, lizard, frog, snake etc. They usually don’t like cats or dogs either. There’s nothing wrong with that. Obama should take off his racist glasses and quit trying to make everything into a race issue.

I want to visit the Sea Bee Museum in Gulf Port and the Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola. It is the best air museum there is. We have lunch in the recreated NAS Cubi Point O club restaurant. We lived at Subic for a year. There is a new to us exhibit there. Also there is a fantastic place to buy sea food in pCola.
We are returning to the Silver Slipper Casino for the sea food buffet. we will spend three nights at the Gulf Shores state park. It is a massive camp ground but is convenient to lots of other places.
On the way home, we stop in B’ham for Sukiyaki

I’m from Georgia. In Georgia, we have lots of trees and greenery. Over the past 30 years we’ve seen a major influx of black people, from all over. They buy nice homes in the suburbs, nicer that most whites, and the first thing they do is cut down all the trees in the yards. I know some who won’t even go into their backyards because it’s adjacent to the woods...some have told me they are “afraid o’ dem woods”.
It’s hard to understand as I grew up playing in the woods, building forts, climbing trees, etc. it’s difficult to understand their inordinate fear of the woods, but it’s a common trait.
On the other hand, crime has increased to the point where folks won’t go into town at night, or on weekends.
That’s an interesting observation...

We have nice parks in NJ and neighboring NY (including beaches), but there is little money to maintain them. Some look abandoned, and services are cut; Hurricanes Irene and Sandy did some damage that is still not addressed (and can’t be for lack of funds).
During decent weather, the areas most heavily used by non-Anglos look like a bomb was dropped on a garbage dump; absolutely filthy. The only solution is to charge higher fees, which politically doesn’t sell well.
The first sentence answers the second for me.
A lot of blacks hate the white lines in a parking lot. You can tell because they park all over them, and at weird angles.
I see the same reaction to nature in my area (northeastern NJ); we have plenty of mountains in the northwest (where the Appalachian Trail passes through) and campgrounds, but I never see blacks use them (and the campgrounds are often inexpensive).
For what its worth, there are Civil War II implications for this; holding the cities while surrendering the rest never works out.
And, I'm standing right there with'em!
It's like a mini-vacation away from the extended family infesting inhabiting the beach house during the annual beach week.
anytimes I see the word diversity it tells me that it is the white’s fault and the value of decision making is about to drop to hurt the actual subject at the heart of the discussion. Hey, minorities dont play hockey either is that the fault of white’s that they will not invest in equipment for their children to play?
I have a funny racial story from ROTC summer camp in 1964 that flatters everybody, regardless of race.
One of my fraternity brothers and I went to camp at Ft. Riley, KA, and each of us was in a different company. KA in summers is brutally, blazingly hot and we were all in fatigue uniforms that went down to our wrists and up to our necks. One day my fraternity brother and a bunch of other white guys were showering with a black guy, who looked at them and suddenly broke into uncontrollable laughter. Turned out the sun had made each of the white guys get such sun burn blackened hands and faces that they looked like their hands and faces had been dunked in melanin. The black guy couldn’t stop laughing and the whites ended up joining him.
They closed a local pool by dumping their kids there for low cost day care. Most of the families who went to the public pool were run off. Not saying all of these drop offs were unruly, but a fair share were a handful for the teenage staff.
