Justice Clarence Thomas, a reliable conservative vote on the Supreme Court, is mulling retirement after the presidential election, according to court watchers.

Thomas, appointed by former President George H.W. Bush and approved by the Senate after a bitter confirmation, has been considering retirement for a while and never planned to stay until he died, they said. He likes to spend summers in his RV with his wife.

His retirement would have a substantial impact on control of the court. The next president is expected to immediately replace the seat opened by the death of conservative Justice Antonin Scalia, providing a one-vote edge in the court that is currently divided 4-4....

Oh, boo-hoo for her. I’m sick of these Cruz or Die people. What is he, the second coming? Well, he’s not.

Thomas should announce now that he will retire in January.

That’ll get Republicans to turn out in record numbers.

Hillary won’t stand a chance.

I remember Ted Cruz saying a while ago that if the left gets hold of the Supreme Court you can say adios to our 2nd Amendment..so I wonder, for those so-called Republicans who despise Trump, are they OK with that

Possibly even more. Kennedy, Beyer, and Ginsberg are all near or over 80.

First I ever heard of this talk. If this has been known in “certain circles” it has not been out in the public press like you think it would. It’s possible Bedard is right, but I would like to see a little more conformation from other sources.

He’s a lot like the late Robert Novak in some ways.

Justice Thomas is an American icon who realized the American dream. As an avid hiker and camper, I remembered that he enjoyed his RV. God Bless this remarkable man, a God-sent as well as his family!

She’s also a delegate. She backed Brad Thor on his outrageous Trump assassination comments.

“Meanwhile, Ted Cruz is still “assessing” whether to vote for Trump or Hillary.”

Seriously?

I always thought she was a bit of a disaster. Who can forget her writing to Anita Hill - Anita Hill! - to ask that feminazi to admit she lied about her husband! Anyone with sense would have let that go. You cannot make liars confess unless they are under medieval torture. The niavete to not assume the press would run with that!

Did she agree that Trump should be assassinated? She’s not real bright.

Justice Thomas is an incredible man who I truly believe is serving his country rather than a profession. He's ready to retire but I don't think he will unless Trump gets elected and he's assured his spot on the court will be filled with someone like minded as him.

As a side note, I'm fully aware of he and his wife's love of RV camping. How cool would it be to pull into a campsite out in the middle of wherever campsites are and find you neighbor is Justice Thomas and his wife?

"Hey Mr. Thomas, want to join my family for hotdogs?"..............LOL! Or, "Mr. Thomas, lets go down to the river tomorrow morning for some fly fishing......."

To Leftists, government is the ultimate destination. Most liberal judges want to die with the gavel in their hand.

A conservative, OTOH, has a life.

“It’s always about Cruz with your little group.”

Whatever.

Is what he said true or not?

At some point, you leftover Cruz fanatics had better decide if all of you shooting off your mouths about being “true conservatives” or how “We cherish the constitution” was just you blowing smoke or not.

If Hillary wns it won’t make any difference if Thomas stays to be part of a permanent minority. Can’t blame him for throwing in the towel.

He might as well retire
Trump wins in a landslide then he will name conservatives
Hillary wins Thomas's vote will be meaningless
