Is there a safe site to download it from? I am a bonded and certified techtard and for some reason Firefox went weird on me not long ago, with most sites so stuffed with adds I can’t even use it.
Scroll back up and use the "next" link at the top of the page instead. That one works.

OK, you’re using Firefox. Have you tried Chrome with FR and is the behavior the same?
I use IE and Chrome, but I don’t have Firefox anymore because just as you discovered it won’t work with more and more websites.
Nope, the one person I’m trying to see comment history still doesn’t work to see the next page of comments, no matter what I do. And it does say “next page” so I know he has more than one page of comments. Some people’s work, some don’t. I just tried my own again, and it didn’t work the first try, then did the second.
I’m baffled.

There's another way, but it's a little more complicated.
It sounds like you wouldn't have any problem with the second method. :)

Sorry. When people post vanities asking for tech help, there is a standard joke that people will rush to comment. “Well, are you logged in??” When that has no connection to the person’s issue.
And this issue MAY as you describe ACTUALLY DEPEND ON BEING LOGGED IN for real as the solution! It’s just funny.
At the top of your home page, click on ACCOUNT, then on MY PREFERENCES.
I have 100 chosen for Thread Pagination and 100 for Browsing.
I also have SLAVE chosen for windows.
What are your settings, and have you tried different ones? Maybe you’ve found a bug in FR.

I have 100 for threads and for browsing. Hmm, mine is “Blank” and I never changed it. When I open a new thread/article etc on FR I just click “open in new tab”. Would it be better if I did the SLAVE option?
I have seen this occur at times. The page showing the comments has three tabs: Articles / Activity / Comments. Sometimes, after clicking “Next Page” the next page somehow activates the “Articles” tab; just click on the “Comments” tab to view the next comments.
I keep doing exactly that and each time I get the first page of comments, and clicking “next page” takes me to “articles”. At least for some users.
