Calexit:Urging a Yes Vote
Volkay's Volcano ^ | 01/07/2017 | Chris Volkay

CalExit is the "Brainchild" of these leftists crybabies here in California to withdraw California from the union. You see, now that Trump and his Horrible Deplorables have taken over, it's just too much for the prissy-pants wittle snowflakes to brook. They need their little shelters to shield them from reality. So now they want to take California and stomp home with it like it is their ball on the playground. To which I say, why the hell not. Get out, please, go as far away as possible and then keep going.

I am all for them leaving. As long as before they are allowed to leave they pay off their full share of the US Debt. Then all Federal dollars immediately stop going into Caliwhatever they become. Pass port will be needed for them to enter the United States. No State can make deals, trades, anything, on their own. All US military equipment will be withdrawn from Cali unless the Government of Cali makes deals with the US, but the troops stationed there will be US troops and the r=equipment will be ours. So yeah go ahead and leave. But no coming back

Let CA leave the Union. No strings and no requirements. Just go already. The upside for the other 49 states politically makes up for any loses or inconveniences.

Via con Dios California.

The USA hasn’t collect much in import tariffs for the last 50 years. It averages about 1% of gross imports. Almost nothing. So why would we tariff CA and not the rest of the world?

I wonder... without those 55 Electoral College votes, would Democrats ever win another Presidential election?

538 would become 483, so 242 Electoral College votes would be needed to win. Clinton got only 232 Electoral College votes on Election Day, and that was WITH California's 55.

1. I am okay with CA leaving, but they won’t do it. They do have that moral right though. Secession is like divorce; when one side stops keeping their vows, the other side has the right to leave peaceably.

2. I am thrilled that they are legitimizing secession. When we lose power, which will probably happen in 8-12 years, we may need the option of secession for the free states. After arguing that California had that right, they will look like the hypocrites they are if they claim they can use the military to force us to stay.

California succeeds from the U.S. and then the red counties (where the working folks live) will succeed from California (whose gonna stop them?)... hello state of Jefferson.

Only the major cities are blue. The red part would probably secede from the new nation and return to the US. That would leave those cities isolated and broke.

Where do they plan on getting drinking water?

Or oil?

They will be leaving the Federal Reserve system and will have no money.

Not even a remote possibility of this occurring, but nice to think about all the libs migrating from other states to California.
Don’t know how those conservatives in many parts of the state would be accommodated, however.

Yes, but the Communists, criminals, and thugs all live in the cities where crime and Democrats abound. Perhaps those counties should be allowed to separate.

Do not think that California has fully thought out the advantages and disadvantages of such a move.

Would northern California want to leave the USA?

There used to be a time, some 200 and 300 and 400 years ago, all around Europe and other places, when, if people didn’t feel comfortable with their places of living, that they left to seek out new places where they could feel more comfortable. So, why can’t those liberal weenies leave and go seek out places that will more closely match their beliefs and politics? Just leave the land in California, and go south, to places such as Venezuela and Cuba; I’m pretty sure that there are still places in Europe that are accommodating to their beliefs and politics.

If the U.S. is no longer a place they feel comfortable in, then, just get the heck out. You’re no longer welcome to live in a land that is hostile to your beliefs. GET GOING, while the going is good, or you’re going to be feeling a lot more uncomfortable in the next 8+ years.

However, I’m willing to let CalExit happen, for the sake of he rest of the country.

If Kern county annexes the desert communities east of the San Gabriels then I’m all for it.
