Conservative Novel

Greetings Freepers. I'm posting a 100% self-serving vanity because I suspect I'm going to need some help. My most recent novel delves a little into politics and as the reviews begin to come in, I'm already getting flack for conservatism.

It so happens that the reviewer left a five star review, but because I've submitted the novel to about two hundred literary-type reviewers, bloggers, etc, I suspect there will soon be a deluge of left-leaning reviews.

So I wanted to make the same offer here as to all the book reviewers and bloggers who have just received their copies. I'll send a kindle gift link to anyone interested in reading and leaving an honest review on Amazon. (I have 44 left, so that's the max). No strings attached, no wink or secret handshake. You can see the trailer and book cover at http://www.claytonlindemuth.com/solomon-bull/

If interested, send an email to claylindemuth at gmail.

Back of the Book:

Have you heard of the Desert Dog? It kills people who take it on.

Blackfoot Indian Solomon Bull trains for the ultra-dangerous endurance race called Desert Dog. Winning the race would solidify Solomon's inheritance. His father was a rebel who died in the 1980's fighting the US government for the American Indian Movement.

Ex-mercenary Cal Barrett designed Desert Dog to shred people. Rumor is he recruits winners into a clandestine paramilitary outfit. Solomon is approached by Rachel, a government official who'll do anything to persuade him to infiltrate Cal Barrett's outfit. She warns him that something big is on the horizon.

Meanwhile, crooked Senator Cyman's security chief is on Solomon's tail. Defacing Cyman's re-election billboards sparked a bigger reaction than Solomon bargained for.

The pendulum between assimilation and war is swinging. Will Solomon get eaten by the machine his father died fighting?

Can one man fight the evil that surrounds him and win?

Solomon Bull is Clayton Lindemuth at his rebel noir best. You'll find all the "thrilling... visceral... unsparing..." prose that earned his debut Cold Quiet Country the coveted starred review from Publishers Weekly.

Doesn’t sound very conservative to me.

That’s the cleaned up version. Let’s say the plot is intricate. :)

The protagonist applies conservative values to the challenges he faces in the plot. Primarily, he battles a corrupt senator (pre-pizzagate, but prescient), while avoiding conscription to work at the behest of a Treasury TFI agent to infiltrate a renegade about to decapitate the government.

Sounds interesting. I sent off an email. That darn conservative attitude just creeps in everywhere, huh? It’s just a fine way to approach life.

To the many Freepers who have already responded, I’m overwhelmed by your generous interest. Thank you.

There is one F Bomb, which I retained in the book after screening out 92 others, because in this one case, the humor couldn’t work without it. There is, I think, one other occurrence of decent-grade profanity, and the rest is mild.

There are sexual themes, but no outright sex scenes.

The story involves a pedophile senator, which means there are pretty dark story elements.
