Well, that casts a bit of a pall upon the evening, doesn’t it?

I see two possible interpretations:
1) change into a new direction and then a change back. So 7/8 years of conservative directional change followed by a return to swap critters / business as usual
2) two consecutive changes in the same direction. So from Obama’s liberalism to a moderate conservatism under President Trump. Then people see that conservatism is not so bad and want an even greater shift to conservationism.
Just speculating here.
Of the double conservative change option, that would be very possible considering VP Pence taking over and implementing a social conservative agenda. VP Pence is 58 so that would make him 64 and still a viable candidate for President.
To make that happen though, I am of the opinion that President Trump will have to do a lot of work to clean up the voter rolls and make sure that we get a clean election.
If I stretch just a bit I think I can get my pain meds to last till September 23rd.
In the meantime, I’m going to order pizza.

Moon blocked my view of the sun too. It went completlely over the sun in SC, Just my rotten luck.
Symbolic meaning? The moon passed in front of the sun for a brief moment today. It’s simple celestial mechanics - nothing more.

There is no meaning with an eclipse. It’s just another astral event.
Maybe, but Jesus said of the end times (which I think there is good reason to believe we are in),
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaringLuke 21:25.
Since I don't think Jesus is a lair, then maybe there might be something symbolic to all of this (it doesn't have to be unpredictable to be symbolic).
For anyone that is interested (the rest, just take a pass), here's what I thought of this morning while all this was going on...
In Genesis 37:9-10, Joseph tells a dream to his father, Jacob, who immediately understood the sun and the moon in the dream to mean Joseph's father and mother. (Would that we were as quick-witted as Jacob.) (I think there are other references in the Bible as well that allude to the woman being like the moon.
So one way (not the only way) to look at this eclipse could be the idea that the woman is getting in front of and usurping the man which is happening in America and all over the world these days. A la "feminism, the women's movement, and "equal rights", women are supplanting men in the home and the workplace not because of ability but because of gender and I think the results we're seeing is broken homes and less intelligence in the workplace - more darkness.
Where I’m currently located I’ve seen big dark clouds blot out the sun more effectively than today’s partial eclipse. Didn’t even get dark here. To my way of thinking I experience a solar eclipse on a regular basis. It’s called nighttime. When the Earth turns its back to the Sun. The Earth rotating on its axis while orbiting the Sun while the Moon orbits the Earth is, in and of itself, simply incredible. How it all works is truly beyond my comprehension.
