I am against a parade of that type.A parade to honor our military is one thing, but to display the articles of war like we’re in a supermarket I’m against that.

That’s what banana republics and communist countries do to instill fear in their own citizens usually.

Well, I am glad France got to have their Bastille Day parade this year, as I suspect the muzzards won’t be allowing any more such displays once they are fully in charge.

I often dreamed of visiting France — and all of Europe — but looks like I missed my chance. Those countries, their cultures, and their magnificent landmarks will soon be no more.

We had this in my hometown when I was young.

In fact, there was an armory not far from our home and we sat on the porch watching the tanks and jeeps roll by.

Now at age 12-15....those soldiers sure looked hot....and 60 years later....they still look hot.

I’m so over the left that I’m now in favor of anything that will make them look even more bat-$#@ crazy. So I say go for it.

It would be better to have an airborne military parade over Pyongyang.

Wouldn’t all the heavy stuff lay waste to the roads?

How about a parade celebrating the over 200 year history of our armed forces with everyone from Minute Men to our current day forces represented? Military and civilian marching bands. Antique and reproduction armament. AF flybys. I think that would be awesome!

This will be a nose thumb at the Norks AND the media will go ape s-— which is exactly the effect Trump’s hoping for.

Back in the 50s and 60s Armed Forces Day celebrations at Andrews Air Force Base were amazing displays of military might in a holiday atmosphere.

It is not to instill fear.

It is to instill pride.

If a leftist wets his pants, all the better.

I approve.

I concur on that. It’s poor optics.

However, if a parade is to honor the military, then they should get to kick back and watch it. So, it should be a bunch of bureaucrats marching by in July. In suits. Carrying the soldiers’ 80 poundish backpacks. We could consider it a thinning of the herd.

It would still have the same effect of driving the left even more bat-$#!@ crazy in a highly visible and public manner, so I’d be all for that, too. I’m so over those people, give them every opportunity to destroy themselves and drive away the few remaining semi-sane Democrat voters.

I agree wholeheartedly. That type of display in "peace time" would easily be misconstrued. Marching troops, fire fighters and cops OK. Armament not so much.

We’re not talking about marching out missiles and heavy artillary. Check out the videos from France’s parade.

Anything to make libtard heads explode is just fine with me. I wouldn’t care if the USAF rolled a Minuteman II down the street. We had to put up with the Obama era Tinkerbell parades for 8 years. I think a July 4th military parade choreographed tastefully showing a proud military lineage without looking like something circa 1975 Soviet Union is possible.

“... A parade to honor our military is one thing....”

I agree. The optics of “showing our goods” looks weak to me. I think it is somewhat like the bullied kid on the playground that starts doing push ups/talks about his upcoming karate classes LOUDLY with the hopes he isn’t picked on. However, some sort of parade/display honoring our military... I love that idea! FWIW... it is what lesser countries do to instill fear or “impress” the world’s bigger countries. Not a good look at all. We shouldn’t become more like them.

That’s basically what France did. As a footnote, the US led the parade.

The taxpayer in me just cringes when I think of the paving repair bill :-)

But we could have Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI re-enactors. Vets from WW II, the Korean War, Vietnam. People honoring our MIAs. All 50 states could send representatives from their respective National Guards. The Coast Guard should be represented. The Tuskegee Airmen could be honored. Native American codetalkers. The medical personnel who have and do serve our nation.

And bands, lots and lots of bands.

Horses, too. Service dogs. Carrier pigeons.

This could be so cool...
