I tend to agree with you. When it comes down to it, the only thing that makes sense is an ABJECT HATRED towards Christians, based on the (very likely) small number of them who tried to convert them or otherwise made them feel uncomfortable. They hate it so much, that they prefer Muslims, who at least don’t try to convert them...and they want nothing at all to do with conservatives achieving power.
It is unreal.
Well from their view point Christians are the heretics.
Of course that as a source for dislike would be only be true if they are religious, all of the ones I have talked to aren’t religious.(and I can’t think of an exception!)
So to me its even more irrational behavior, dislike for the sake of dislike!
