Will the Parkland Kids Change the Gun Debate?
Politico ^ | February 20, 2018 | Dave Cullen

Since April 20, 1999, when 12 students and a teacher were gunned down at a high school in Colorado, I have covered most mass shootings in America in some capacity, and I have never seen anything like these Parkland kids. This one seems different—these young survivors are speaking out, and calling out the politicians who have done nothing for the last two decades.

When Columbine struck, I remember spending all afternoon and most of the first evening outside the school with students, and policy was the last thing on anyone’s mind. I was with them every day that week, and most of the next month, and gun control almost never came up.

The children of the Children's Crusade mostly either died or were sold into slavery. Do you know why?

They didn't have guns...

>>The activists are grieving, too, but it’s not a coincidence that a disproportionate number of the Never Again leaders are dedicated members of the drama club...

LOL. Actual drama queens.

The MIESKEITS in the press allow the COMMUNISTS and DOMESTIC ENEMY that are funding this anti gun propaganda to remain ANONYMOUS in order to INSULATE them from RETALIATION.

Time to tell these UN-AMERICAN SCUMBAGS THAT HAVE CREATED A SOCIETY THAT BREEDS MASS MURDERERS AND STYMIES ANY ATTEMPT TO INCARCERATE the mentally defective, that IN FACT WORKS ACTIVELY TO ENCOURAGE mental DEFECTIVES to ESCAPE scrutiny and institutionalization, to go to HELL.

These mass murders are the DEMOCRATS FAULT, and the FINAL BATTLE has begun.

I remember teens back in 1968 who were way too young to vote signing gun control petitions.

CNN - talk to Debbie & co:

20 Feb: Washington Times: Former GOP Rep. Jack Kingston suggests ‘left-wing groups’ are behind student protests
By Jessica Chasmar
Former Rep. Jack Kingston is facing backlash after he suggested Tuesday that “left-wing groups” are coaching school shooting survivors to protest for stricter gun control.
“I think it’s a horrible tragedy, and I am heartbroken that young people have gone through this, and I hope that it never happens again,” the Republican, now a commentator for CNN, told network host Alisyn Camerota. “But I also know that their sorrow can very easily be hijacked by left-wing groups who have an agenda.”

“Do we really think 17-year-olds on their own are going to plan a nationwide rally?” Mr. Kingston asked. “I would say to you very plainly that organized groups that are out there like George Soros are always ready to take up the charge, and it’s kind of like instant rally, instant protest and those groups are ready to take it — take it to the streets.”
Ms. Camerota pushed back, arguing that the survivors of last week’s mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida, were “wildly motivated” by the tragedy to pressure Washington on gun control.

Mr. Kingston insisted that he’s not questioning the students’ sincerity, but suggesting that they “probably do not have the logistical ability to plan a nationwide rally … without it being hijacked by groups that already had the pre-existing anti-gun agenda.”
“Jack, that’s silly,” Ms. Camerota shot back. “They’re already doing it. They’re on buses ...

The only people who will not find these little snots insufferable are those who already agree with them.

We're not going to let a bunch of high school idiots bring back the idiocy of the 60's. No, the 'wisdom' of 15 year old is NOT going to ruin the country this time.

What these 'kids' NEED to tell us - WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR FROM THESE STUDENTS is WHY!:

WHY ARE YOUNG PEOPLE slaughtering each other in their high schools when NONE OF US OF ANY OTHER GENERATION EVER PULLED OUT GUNS ON OUR FELLOW CLASSMATES AND TRIED TO KILL THEM.

Should not. Only if a majority of the politicians lose all sense of being adults who are sworn into following our Constitution.

************************************************************

An there’s your clue. This is a very evil and well organized propaganda war, designed to accomplish the goal of disarming the US citizens little by little - not by logic, but by emotion. No different Hitler’s Reichstag Fire.

Broward County - nexsus of drug and child trafficking, with gangs tied to Hezbollah. District of DSW - one of the most corrupt districts. Drills held by Secret Service just weeks before, that changed the protocols per student testimony.

Drills scheduled that morning so that students thought blanks were being fired at first. I won’t bother to list all the suspicious stuff.

Nary a mention in the news media - why are we medicating troubled kids with drugs that have a known side effect of causing suicidal/homicidal thoughts, hearing voices etc.?

Maybe the drugs should be outlawed and better treatment options explored. Go back to the 50s - all the guys had guns on their gun racks when they came to school, but we didn’t have these shootings.

They are teenagers - emotional and irrational. It’s insane to allow the formation of policy/opinions etc. based on the “feelings” of children.

"...they thought that ‘blanks’ were being fired..."

That seems odd/artificial/scripted. How often do people really shoot blanks? Maybe a starter’s pistol at a race?
When I am outside and hear gunfire in the distance I know folks are shooting guns. That is a normal reaction.

The correct word is “exacerbate”, which means to make something worse, very different than the word “exasperate,” but I understand your meaning. I agree with you.
