I'm in an open marriage. Well, to be simultaneously more and less specific: I'm in a nonmonogamous marriage. An "open" marriage, in the nontraditional world, means that the couple may be having sex with other people but with no emotion involved. In contrast, in a "polyamorous" relationship, it means the couple is having sex with others and may also be having full-fledged relationships with others.

Married 48 years to same woman - served 3 year tour of duty in Army, honorably discharged - three grown employed drug free educated children, all married to their first wives - - six drug free grandchildren - worked at same job for 45 years —debt free with (hopefully) enough money in bank for a long retirement.
But, agree, there are few of us out there, but you don’t notice us because we don’t have to be in front of a camera or on the front page to validate out lives

This woman is hopelessly naive. Open marriages are against human nature. They eventually fail in the face of jealousy, insecurity, and a spouse whose casual dalliance turns into an affair. I’d love to hear her true reaction if her husband took her up on her no-monogamy rule. In her heart of hearts, she wouldn’t like it one bit (unless she’d become like Hillary and didn’t care what he did). Who marries someone who says just before the marriage that monogamy is out of the question? She said her husband didn’t agree at first.

My husband and I are still in love and deeply committed. After 25 years of faithful marriage, I love him even more because he is not only my spouse and lover, he is the father of my children. There is not a man alive that can replace him...everyone else is just a poor copy. My son has made a vow of chastity until marriage, as has my daughter, so yes...some people still get it!
