Nope. Won’t give it up. More positive then negative.
I dont use Facebook ...

Me either, but I’m constantly being told any business *needs* it. I dither about it, then I read posts from authors and businesses about their FB being secretly disconnected/reconnected over and over and the expensive, time-consuming process of building a brand following is disrupted, leaving the owner to reconstruct the connections. So, that seems a waste of time as well as extremely frustrating.
People say (weakly):”I need to keep in touch with my family.” They need to realize that by doing so, everyone in their family is added to the Venn diagram the social media corporations construct and sell. By keeping in touch, your underage relatives are incorporated into the web of connections, including documentation of their faces as they age. You are handing your grandchildren over to commercial exploitation. You are embedding your family in the predictive policing database. If we ever have a hot revolution and if your conservative children,grands/nieces and nephews, siblings and parents ever act against the administrative state, they are already conveniently tagged.
I even have doubts about smart phones for people who keep to a small perimeter. Rather have a dumb flip phone, personally. It will still allow geo-tracking, though, so I don’t know if it makes a difference.
No laws or regulations are going to stop this data consolidation. I don’t know the answer. Our posts on FR are archived on goog, so all that is needed is one or two data points and our handles are in the open. In today’s world, people need some form of mobile comms and while we don’t NEED to connect on forums, it’s going to happen, regardless.
The cloud is not on your computer it’s on someone else’s server, so you have to trust their security measures to keep snoopers out of your stuff. And of course those who write the security measures usually have a way to bypass them.
Like all sites, they can see other sites that you’ve visited. All websites gather lots of data.
And a very fractured one at that
Make a 100% bogus account if you have the need to spy on your brats
Other than that stay away
The same John Kennedy, from LA, who is constantly on FoxNews touting what a stalwart, conservative ‘fighter’ he is? That guy was afeared to ask MZ about FB’s lapdog status/participation, in 0’s re-election??

LOL....they even find you on ‘bogus’ accounts. A friend did this....using completely fictitious name, throw away email, etc. Within a DAY, she said they had recommended (I have no idea how FB works, as I’ve never had an account) just about EVERY one of her co-workers and relatives.
How freaky is that?
Yes; the same John Kennedy. He is a funny guy, and if he wants to do his cute stand-up routine on Fox, that’s fine. But when he’s working in the House with time constraints, he needs to DO HIS FRICKIN’ JOB! We all get that he’s impressed with his own wit. I’d rather know how MZ rationalizes offering to help Obama’s campaign.
I don’t have anything to do with FB and never have.
FB recommended the bogus person to to those people not her true self’s its not freaky at all.
They were recommended, as friends, to HER.
But, yeah, right...whatever....you just keep on believin’!
MZ has a major award prize he’ll give you, for ‘free’ :-)
This will be easy...I don’t have
any “friends”. Never been on
Facebook.
I have had a bogus acnt for 10 plus years.
Was never conect, linked, associated whatever to any family member or friend(all emerged in that shit)
So your squeeze screwed up somewhere
