I think they are just after boomers and before Gen X. Depends who you ask.

Oh Gee, let’s all play the Blame Game!

Please.

Grow up and quit looking for excuses. Quit whining and make the best life for yourself that you can.

There is a lot of blame to go around. I remember that some of the so called "greatest generation" were hard core socialist ,commies and leaders of the hippie movement. I remember meeting one guy in particular who was a WWII navy vet. This guy was a rabid yellow dog democrat. I was floored talking to him. He was a retired union guy and nothing that any republican did was right. He absolutely hated Reagan with a passion. He was not the only one like that.

Meet another one who was a proud veteran of " The Abraham Lincoln Brigade ". All wars were bad unless they were in support of commies and socialists. That was him in a nutshell.

Let me fix the stupid “Why it matters” section. “Why it matters: The two generations are going to fight over who gets the most free stuff from the government, paid for by Generation X”

...millennials seeking government help as automation takes hold...

Really? You're gonna drag out that old Luddite argument to prop up your argument? How about picking a major that doesn't involve hugging trees so you can stop living in your parents basement. Who do you think the gov't is, stupid? It's YOU! I'm paying for your handout and I've pretty well had enough of it. So get off your Participation Trophy a$$, get a job, learn a skill, and shut up.

Who is the “silent generation”?

It's the generation between the "greatest generation" that fought WW2 and the boomers. Basically the guys who were in their 20s in the 1950s and early 1960s.

Yep I agree.

I’m conservative. I raised my family with good values, a good work ethic, sense of responsibility, etc.

I did not mess up this world. I had nothing to do with it. If they want to talk about government policy or other reasons for this world being messed up, have at it.

We live in a world largely shaped by liberals. To blame baby boomers for problems in the world is absurd. This baby boomer did nothing to create the things millennials are bitching about.

I’m 63 and a woman. We have a sailboat. I sand and varnish the hand rails. I put in a new floor. I pulled out the old port lights and put in new ones. I recently pulled out the sink in the aft birth and put a new one in with a new faucet. Just the other day I changed the joker valve in the head....nasty job by the way.
Those millennials couldn’t/wouldn’t do half of what I do. They can go screw themselves.
I also have a Masters Degree in business that I paid cash for because I worked a full time job while going to school.

If they leave it up to me (I’m going on 59) I would raid every penny out of this government they might ever hope to get and leave the little snowflakes so far in debt that they’ll have to move to Nicaragua to earn a living....

That's the Left. The goal is to divide and destroy.

Old against young.
Black against white.
Men against women.
Gay against straight.
Rich against poor.
....

If the Boomers are to blame why do THEY know how to change light bulbs whereas a poll of Millennials found many couldn’t?

We just brought in a bunch of trainees where I work to be equipment operators. Most were graduates from the local community college.

More than half did not know what a pipe wrench was or how to use a crescent wrench.

What for my generation was common knowledge and part of male upbringing (helping dad around the house) is nearly totally absent in some of these ‘kids’.

Fascinating, they blame all their bad decisions on older people. Fascinating. This says that our educational system is a complete failure. It teaches feelings and not facts

As a 38 year old, from the end of Generation X, I have to say that the Millennials have no one to blame but themselves. No one forced them to take on so much debt for a sometimes useless college degree, and no one is forcing them to spend more than they earn.

I'm a Millie. Recently I closed on some commercial property and had time to chat with the broker. His son is only a few years younger than I am and the father is hellbent on getting his son into the priciest college that will take him. The son is reluctant to take on stupendous debt. So was I, and I stuck up for the son's pov. Told him I was homeschooled and decided to avoid the college trap. He said homeschooling carries a stigma, and lacking a college diploma is career suicide. LOL. His commission yesterday came out of my wallet and it covers a typically priced year's tuition. Never mind that I fattened my wallet in his line of work, real estate.

Anyway, sometimes it's the parents' expectations, sometimes not. Too few question the necessity of a diploma at all. If I ever borrow a 5-figure amount to adorn my place with wall art, it won't be a diploma from a left-wing pesthole.
