When a mass shooting occurs, some people act as if the guns themselves are responsible rather than the people who use them, Other people respond with the statement: "Guns don't kill people. People do." The statement is true because guns cannot independently affect the operation of the human brain.
The brain is a complex system controlled by the interaction of various chemicals. People use marijuana because it is one of the chemicals .that can affect the operation of the brain. Unfortunately, there is a dark side to marijuana. In addition to creating the sensation of feeling "high", marijuana can cause behavior that kills.
Marijuana has two ways of killing people. Marijuana reduces the brain's ability to detect and respond appropriately to danger such as when driving a car. Sometimes the marijuana user dies from a traffic accident. Sometime the person who dies was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Marijuana is associated with homicidal behavior. Marijuana violence often involves firearms. Some of this violence is due to marijuana's tendency to induce paranoia in some people. Marijuana heightens the sense of fear as it does the other senses.
The sense of smell can play a role in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder [PTSD]. Police officers who have had a bad experience with drug dealers or marijuana users could become overly fearful if they smell marijuana on someone they are dealing with and be more likely to shoot than they would be otherwise. Government needs to finance research on this possibility.
Booze is a much bigger killer, sorry.

So how did murder rates and highway fatality rates manage to plunge in the last 20 years, while at the same time, marijuana laws dramatically eased nationwide?
People make choices.
People make bad choices.
Marijuana is a choice.
It does not kill anybody.
People’s bad choices do.......

That is the violence of the black market. Caused from making pot illegal. You idiot drug warriors never acknowledge the black market violence your approach creates. We don't have drive-by shootings in front of liquor stores. We did during Prohibition.
In Denver a couple of years ago, an enterprising girl scout sold out her cookies in front of a pot dispensary. Neither her nor her mom feared violence since that was a legal enterprise. Learn from that, pinhead.

We had a much higher muder rate during Prohibition than we do now. We also had a much higher murder rate during the 80s and 90s when marijuana prohibition was in full swing.
That doesn’t necessarily mean prohibitions CAUSE higher rates of murder. It does, however, flush your agument down the crapper.
You must hate alcohol since it’s killed and maimed more people, destroyed more families than cannabis by a series of magnitudes.
Maybe because a solid majority of the people now realize that:
a) pot prohibition is a waste of law enforcement and incarceration funds, and
b) Constitutionalists realize that the fed prohibition on state legal pot violates the 10th Amendment.
We’re all going to die. It’s our destiny. It happens because we’re at the right place at the right time.
