I knew somebody working at an orphanage in Honduras. He said something about the child’s parents coming to visit him for the first time in two years.
“Wait - he has parents? Why is he in an orphanage!?”
“His folks can’t afford to feed him. But his two sisters still live at home.”
It would be bad enough to be an orphan. But to know that your sisters are still with your parents - but they didn’t want you!!??
But who knows - maybe the orphanage is a better place than home?
it is very believable the parents sold them just as it very believable that sexual predicters go after kids in foster care. common theme is children that do not have adults looking out for there best interest.

Used to happen here as well. Poor parents would drop off some or all of their children at an orphanage for a time. They would be there for as long as it took the parents to get on their feet and then they would be reunited.
I’ve seen these and read the old BdZ site and followed the intimidation (and worse) back in the day.
