Perfectly good shoot. The video very clearly shows him being both physically attacked along with verbally threatened (”WE’RE GOING TO F**KING KILL YOU!!”)
No sane person who’s being chased down the street, beaten with blunt objects, knocked to the ground, with crowds of people screaming at and threatening you would fail to see that as a direct threat to your life. Maybe there’s additional information that will come out, but based on what’s shown here, there’s no reason to file charges against the shooter. Plenty of charges to be filed against his attackers.
Obviously the guy shot the wrong instigators.
Found the arrest record for Stephen Ray Baca. I don’t think they arrested the ‘militia’ as alluded to by the MSM

Like Obama said to a crowd in 2008 while talking about the Supporters of the Republican Presidential Candidate, they bring a Knife to a fight, we bring a Gun.
Meanwhile, when some Antifa fan is handing out AR-15s to teenagers from the trunk of his Tesla the police, mayor, and governor do nothing.
The New Mexico governor tweeted against the only people present who trying to defend public property from destruction, and in favor of the protestors.
It is clear at this point that the protestors and even the rioters are the paramilitary arm of the Democrat party. They are supported, or at least unopposed by the Democrat mayors and governors. In those states and cities the police go after the conservative defenders of statues and neighborhoods, but support or do nothing about the rioters and leftist protestors. When conservatives take any action at all the full weight of the local government comes down on them. When leftists riot the local Democrat DA lets them off without charges.
At this point it is important to realize that the police departments and governments of Democrat areas are working with the leftist protestors, and against conservatives.
Maybe it is time to consider agreeing with the leftist demands to defund the police. That way conservatives won't have to fear being attacked by leftists and the police working together.
I am for it, but I don’t trust the leftists to ever live up to it. Believe me when I say that after a short time, they will go back to business as usual.

For the MSM maybe. But he needs a smart lawyer to get him out of this trouble. He will have help though, there was an undercover cop there who gives a good account in his complaint of Baca leaving the scene, using pepper spray when first attacked then using his gun when the skateboard was aimed at his head.
Absolutely the attackers should be charged. The violent terrorist in the hospital should be moved to the jail ward if not already there.
I’d bet a cup of coffee the shooter who defended himself was only detained and interviewed and then released.
The only ones needing a lawyer here are the violent attackers. The shooter should also file a lawsuit against these terrorist for any medical issues, pain and suffering etc.
Theses "demonstrations" are always peaceful...until they're not.

The whole “mostly peaceful protest” is hilarious.
If I were there, I’d be saying that the police were also “mostly peaceful policing” because for 5 hours they just watch, and they only shoot tear gas for like 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, “peaceful” now include any verbal assaults, even though they also have argued that words are violence, and silence is violence. Say one wrong word to a protester, and they will punch you and say it was justified, but they can call police any name in the book (black people were calling black officers the n-word) and it is “peaceful”.
Also, pulling down statues, breaking windows, and lighting fires, that is all “peaceful”. As is throwing water bottles. Peaceful. And blocking traffic, peaceful.
These people have no clue what the word “peaceful” means.
If this isn’t as clear a case of self defense as there could possibly be then we are in trouble. Thank God it was videoed
Governor they have every right to be there. If you won’t do your job you invite the law of the jungle and many of us refuse to take a beat down by your thugs. This is about to get real ugly.
None of these bastards ever ride these skateboards. They carry them because they are big steel, wood or fiberglass clubs with metal axles on the end. I’m sure they are instructed to carry them specifically because they can claim that victims or the police are crazy for calling them deadly weapons, but they carry them precisely because they are deadly weapons.
