Drudge hasn't changed what he does, the cancel culture of the right has hit him...

Thanks for causing me to laugh milk out of my nostrils! Drudge Reports was a right leaning aggregate news site. Now it is a left leaning aggregate news site. Left and Right are opposite directions. He has changed what he does. Don't be an idiot; you are now lapping up leftist nonsense.

Hope they paid him enough to make it all worthwhile.

Site is not liberal enough yet, that’s all. Needs to get more woke.

What Drudge faced is that "number of readers" is unimportant, except to the extent that they translate into advertising revenue, and corporations have been avoiding conservative media.

He was likely told: turn left, or you will get no advertising revenue.

I agree that Drudge going to the left has been very bad for his traffic.

I also think comparing that slide in any way with a corporate slide is wacky. Corporations face a real risk of bankruptcy if sales drop enough. All it means for Drudge is somewhat smaller profits, because the cost of running that site is low.

"I have never gone to the Drudge Report. I never understood the attraction."

He was good on Pro-Life news, science going wrong (e.g. cloning humans, etc.), weird sky/weather phenomenon, interesting celebrity news (e.g. conservatives coming out of the closet), and much more.

It was not just politics.

The problem with some of the supposed conservative "alternatives" is that most of them are just politics and they are echo chambers that really just repeat what we already get on FreeRepublic. Drudge used to have good old fashioned human interest stories.

@TVNewsHQ

President Trump re-tweeted news from the above site.
Could be a good source for quick hits of news

I used to frequent Drudge multiple time a day. To be honest, I’ve forgotten about the site.

I used to check DrudgeReport many times each day.

Me too.

In the old times, I'd click on Drudge 15-20 times a day and link to the news source directly from his site.

Haven't been there for months and have no intention of going back.

"On a personal level he was nothing more than a scum stealing other people’s work."

If the stories are correct, Drudge started out as a dumpster diver. He would scour the dumpsters at the studio he worked at for news that the studios didn't want to get out.

Then after his site got going he was the way for journalists who didn't want to end their careers to get things out to the public.

For a long time he provided a great service.

If your postings just stayed in your use.net group then they were of no use. If Drudge got them out to the public via his website then he provided a service.

Just because Drudge and/or the Drudge Report have gone south doesn't mean that he wasn't a force for good in the past. I believe it was the Drudge Report that got the ball rolling on the Clinton impeachment. That ultimately didn't go anywhere, but the Deep State has been Deep for quite some time.
