Plenty of hospital capacity the whole time, even in NY where they converted buildings into hospital and brought a ship in, both of which went pretty much unused. Teller her what percentage of those who died were in nursing homes and tell her the locations of those nursing homes, pretty much all in major cities run by dems. Tell her average death age of covid people is 78 years, same as average lifespan of Americans. Could have been followed up by a barrage of emails to her with links to reports of the truth. Videos of normal life today in Sweden. Article with chart showing low covid numbers where HCQ is in high use. Show WHO's list of essential medicines with HCQ right up at the top of the list. Worldwide HCQ usage stats pre-covid. Ask her why the MSM said it's dangerous???
I am a bit of a hermit by nature and do not know that many people and our family is small, so I am not in a position like Susan’s.
I am also not a patient person and am prone to sarcasm and harsh language, so I probably would not be very kind if I had a friend like the type Susan is talking about, but I don’t have the patience for Leftism, so I have no leftist friends, except one, and he from time to time admits he has been wrong about things.
However, my aunt has friends like Susan’s. My aunt meets the criteria for elderly, although she doesn’t seem very elderly, and has co-morbidities. But she is out living her life.
Some of her friends are still keeping themselves holed up. And these are people who are going to vote Trump.
Some days my aunt sounds like me when she talks about how ridiculous they are being and what she wants to say to them, but is too nice to say.
Other days, she sounds like Susan and is really sad that her friends, who are older than she, are seemingly living their final days in fear.
That is why I posted this piece.
BTW: I don’t expect you to know this, but maybe someone reading it will. Do you know of any website where people like your daughter who are in position to see facts on the ground are posting to report what they see (or are not seeing)?
Whoever wrote this cry baby post is suffering from the same psychological problems that “her friend” has.
No well adjusted person cries themselves into depression over something that is truly a lost cause.
A well adjusted person will cut the hopeless case loose and move on..
My guess is that, since the number of "cases" is much higher than the number of deaths, cases are more important to the "woke" than actual deaths.
Also, since her "friend" quickly got flippant and she backed off, well, this is how the Left wins: they can get "in our faces", but we must always act polite to them. To hell with that.

The best thing I know is to live a happy, faithful, fearless and cheerful life. If she is paying any attention she will notice how happy you hopefully are. Mention your joy at Thanksgiving. What great outfits you found at the mall. The wonderful new restaurant downtown. Live.
Somewhere inside she probably wants to be happy. You may, at some point, in an indirect way, get through.
Those who have chosen fear (and I do have sympathy for them. Family, doctors, the media and the government are mostly terrifying them) must see there is a better way to live.

I have told my aunt, who does have a laptop and can use Word and the internet to a somewhat reasonable degree, to just start a Word doc of facts and sources to have at her fingertips and to periodically “study” them to refresh herself on them., so she can at least tell people about them on phone calls.

I’d have nothing to do with her. Anyone who works toward the destruction of our country, either knowingly or unknowingly, is no friend.
People who only listen to MSM believe what they hear and see, just like we conservatives believe what we see or hear on conservative outlets. The difference is, those conservative outlets show us proof. (Not that there aren’t some “conservative” outlets that are nutso, but we can see the difference). So how do you fix someone who only listens to lies? My husband was converted to conservatism through prayer. He was a liberal all his life. We did not discuss politics, because it would result in an argument. So I prayed that God would change him. He always listened to NPR, but he began to get upset that they always sided with the Palestinians, no matter what. Then, on one of the comedy programs, one of his favorite characters made a racial slur against Indians. That tore it! (He’s American Indian).He began to listen to talk radio, and the truth was presented to him. He was “converted”. And now we can discuss politics with like minds, which is wonderful. Thank you LORD, for answering my prayers. So that’s my advice; pray.
On the other hand, I have succeeded in maintaining sanity in my own family. One daughter trends liberal but works in the restaurant industry. She knows there is no epidemiological evidence the virus is spreading from restaurants, yet that industry continues to take the brunt of the Democrat Diktats. Also, no one in the family, including spouses and grandkids, has gotten sick. These people may succeed in making some Republicans yet.
I’ve always thought conservatives should become small publishers. A few thousand flyers don’t cost much. Make some up and spend a few days distributing them. Headlines and stats with a website that has links to the sources of the info. Do it monthly/quarterly or something. Mass mailing too perhaps. Target the suburbs full of Karens.
Why help her? She is thriving within the reality she has constructed in her world. It is a form of sociological dementia. Let her enjoy it.
Don’t let their problems become yours. Let them fear global warming and covid. Live your life.

Sounds hokey, I know ... but I've seen people's expression change even if only for a moment -- even people I've just met and started talking to. I figure I've at least given them something to think about ... an alternative to fear. And if they think I'm nuts ... well, I guess they can continue to burden themselves until they don't.
If all you have is politics then yes a defeat of your guy will send one to a psych ward. I wasn’t happy when 0 won but I absolutely refused to let him win by destroying my sanity. So all of us here at FR slogged through his 8 long years. FR was actually a beacon at that time of darkness. Regardless win or lose when you have a life that is more than worldly politics you have a rock foundation to weather the storms.
People who live in fear while at the same time feeling brave enough to get enraged when you do not share their fear deserve nothing but ridicule.
Yesterday I saw two young men riding in a pickup together wearing masks. As they drove past me i made an obvious show of pointing at them, laughing, and shaking my head while maskless.
