I’m having to conclude, after decades of trying to understand others from their perspective, that to Progressives “crime is not a thing”. Time and again they praise and martyr chronic criminals, functionally oblivious to, say, “she was attempting to stab another for no good reason” or “he was resisting arrest by attempting to take the cop’s gun” or “he was smashing a guy’s head into the pavement” or “he had a history of violence and was resisting arrest while lethally overdosed”. I can’t discern whether they simply ignore inconvenient facts contrary to their chosen narrative, or literally don’t perceive a problem with the criminal behavior.
