Hence any nuclear weapons use will devolve into an attempt to exterminate the other side. We won’t use nukes to push Russia out of Ukraine. But we will assuredly kill every last Russian, including the entire Putin clan if he nukes us. And Putin knows this. Again, he’s looking to win at an acceptable cost, not turn Russia into a place empty of human life, from which even a rump Russian state will never again rise.
