Thank you all for the Happy Birthday Wishes. When is it proper to start counting backwards?

Him's such a cutie.

Vice president Dick Cheney (news - web sites) (L) tours the Ronald Reagan (news - web sites) Presdential Library and Museum with former first lady Nancy Reagan in Simi Valley, California March 17, 2004. Cheney, speaking to a group of supporters prior to the tour, criticized Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites)'s voting record and said his boss' rival lacks the judgement to be commander in chief. REUTERS/Jim Ruymen

I swear, Kerry died two months ago and this is his animated corpse with some sort of remote control making it walk and talk.

Hold on to your hat, remember that story I was telling you about that I was working on last week? That's the Jack Ryan I was investigating. Trust me, you don't want him.

If you can stomach it, watch Kerry when he speaks. The only thing that moves is his mouth.

Jessica Simpson visited the White House on Sunday. During her visit she met interior secretary gale Norton. She reportedly told Norton quote "You've done a nice job decorating the White House."

So, Kerry has gone on vacation for 5 days. I also noticed an item in the Boston Herald saying he was going to miss Sunday's Southies St. Patrick's Day Breakfast for the first time in many years.

How much you wanna bet he bops in and tries to pull off a surprise visit....ala Bush's clandestine flight to Baghdad? He's such a clunker, I wouldn't put it past him.

(I feel like I'm hogging the bandwidth here!)

But I just HAD to put up this Cheney quote I heard on the radio!

Senator Kerry has questioned whether the war on terror is really a war at all.

Recently he said, and I quote, "I don't want to use that terminology." In his view, opposing terrorism is far less of a military operation and far more of an intelligence-gathering, law enforcement operation.

As we have seen, however, that approach was tried before, and proved entirely inadequate to protecting the American people from the terrorists who are quite certain they are at war with us - and are comfortable using that terminology.

Bravo!

I heard snippets of Cheney's speech on Rush's program, as I was in the car at the time - it was a knockout.

Shall I tell you what we would do with pepe le pew in Texas? That limp-wristed pantywaste would get pregnancy check duty on my herd of Santa Gertrudis - all 300 head - and that would be before breakfast. After a round of heuvos rancheros, we'd get down to the castrating and the dehorning and the vaccinating and the ear tagging. No doubt frenchie's breakfast would revisit him. Then, we'd take a break for a big 'ol lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and gallons of iced tea. If Frenchie's still thirsty, he can saunter over to the stock pond and put his mayonaise jar underneath the pipe pouring pure spring water into the pond and drink from that. Then, we move over to the lower 40 and go at it again on the herd down there. Do you think frenchie could make one day of this? I don't think so. Frenchie Kerry could invite all his frenchie friends over to help - we could sell tickets and make it a Bush campaign fund raiser. Good, eh?

Pay For Miller Time

Dennis Miller may be having trouble rustling up people who want to sit through his rants. CNBC is offering $15 to anyone who wants to be part of his audience. (NY Daily News)

Considering Pepe (he of the $175 haircuts), like Blubba Clinton, has never held a real job in his life (okay, except for a couple years as a prosecutor 30 years ago), I don't think he'd cope very well with the regimen you've suggested. Might get a blister or something. You don't have to be a "Bushie" to appreciate the contrast between Dubya and his chainsaw, and Poofy Pepe and his manicured nails.

A little unsettling:

A discarded box filled with terror-related books, manuals and literature was picked up yesterday by sanitation workers in Astoria, Queens - sparking concern of a local terrorism plot. Then things got even more interesting. The workers brought their find to the 114th Precinct stationhouse in Astoria, where cops detected a high level of radiation in the material. Cops immediately were ordered to leave the building.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the precinct was briefly evacuated. Once it was determined it was nothing threatening in the material, everyone was allowed back in the building," said NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Public Information Paul Browne. Browne said the high "gamma" reading could have been triggered by garbage in the back of the sanitation truck.

The materials that sparked the alarm were left on the curb by the elderly owner of a three-story house on 36th St. The landlord had evicted a tenant and was trashing his belongings. The tenant, a 46-year-old taxi driver from Pakistan, is now being sought for questioning, said police officials, who asked that the man's name be withheld.

"The whole matter is under investigation," Browne said. source
