WoW! You spell like a DU Troll, but since you signed up 3 days ago, you can't possibly be one. I'm sure one of the LONG TIME FReepers would have busted you before now. LOL I can't wait for your next post. 8-)

"That you took offense to it isn't my problem either."

Offense? My dear buckwheat, you drastically over estimate your importance to me. I thoroughly enjoy humor breaks and have never considered them offensive.

OK, I'll head there. Phil is getting a bit boring. He can just declare victory and go off and do....

whatever it is he does.

You became boring some time ago.

Usually all you need to do is simply ignore them. They will go on for about 20-30 minutes on their own then reality starts to grip them.

WARNING: the one thing you don't want to do is just leave two of them alone with their Petri dishes too close together. I did that once and we had a fungi problem around here for a week.

And that is why you're part of the problem too.
Everything is a big joke to you, isn't it. Oh, let me clarify that...everything and everyone that you disagrees with is a big joke to you.

"Pogeybait" is unauthorized junk food and implies civilian decadence, lack of fitness, etc.

"Sailor," on the other hand, does have good natured but rather vulgar connotations between service branches in some settings. In initial training, for example, we were taught by our chaste, polite and pure drill sergeants, "If you want to have sex, join the Navy!"

But I don't think CWOJackson was going there with it. If you've always been a civilian, take it as a complement.

;-)

Was it Reagan who said, "always run like you're losing?" Words to that effect, anyway. It's a very good philosophy.

Crap...don't tell him what mail buoys are.

And I'm over six feet tall so it was the Coast Guard (real sailors) not the Navy and their floating cities.

Then why didn't you simply ignore me? Oh yeah, it's all a big joke...
...then reality starts to grip them.
Or obversely you have your ass handed to you wherein you go running off, just like your buddy Belisaurius is doing.

...the one thing you don't want to do is just leave two of them alone with their Petri dishes too close together. I did that once and we had a fungi problem around here for a week.
See how much importance you put upon yourself...the proverbial "we". You probably don't even recognize such things.

WRONG! The expression you're looking for on junk food is gedunk, not pogeybait. That is what junk food is called.
But I don't think CWOJackson was going there with it. If you've always been a civilian, take it as a complement.
Oh, I have a pretty good idea where he was trying to go with it.
I haven't always been a civilian. Having been in the Navy I know exactly what gedunk is. I've a pretty damned good idea what pogeybait is too, though I've never heard it before.

I agree, but a 9 point margin of victory should add up to more than 330 EVs (and I have consistently predicted 325 +/-25, so we are on the same page).

Don't be inane and condescending! I know what a mail buoy is. I know what a GU11 and a B1RD is as well.
You don't even seem to know what gedunk is either if you think that the definition given is correct.

I agree, we must be vigilant and not get too self assured.

Gedunk Stand
On US Navy battleships, the "Gedunk Stand" was a common slang term for the shop where the sailors could buy snacks, sodas, or whatever they needed while at sea

"Crap...don't tell him what mail buoys are."

As a former combat engineer (cbt. type--not constr.), I have no clue, but "mail buoys" doesn't sound like a good thing. LOL!

"And I'm over six feet tall so it was the Coast Guard (real sailors) not the Navy and their floating cities."

Wow! I'd assumed you were prior Army. ...no wonder you don't take to being called "Chief" (slang for CWOs in the Army).

I was originally in the Army (11D, 1969-1974...combat engineers are almost as crazy as EOD) and I don't mind being called Chief at all. I know where it comes from with Army folk.

The wife and I do volunteer work up at Ft. Lewis with the families of people deploying/deployed. Damned silly name tag has my rank. I'm called Chief all the time and love it!

Surprise, surprise! They're called Chief Warrant Officer in the Navy and in the Coast Guard.
He must only want to be called "Sir".

So how is it that as a Coastie you don't know what gedunk is, Chief?
