It was a total roller coaster ride for me. I was having chest pains at one point. My dad called me shortly after Fox called Ohio for Bush and I was still nervous because I couldn't shake the memory of Florida 2000. You were not at all alone my friend!
I was spooked until I saw the 60/40 male/female demographic. And then driving home listening to Ralph Reed be almost adamant that Florida was in W's column (citing stats for county after county) ... I felt good at that point. I got spooked again though when the Fox guys sounded so gloomy on Brit's show.
When the exit polls started flying I got disgusted and shut off the computer and the TV and went to the store for groceries. By the tme I got back, things were rosy.
But it wasn't the most relaxing trip to the market that I ever had.
No, maybe surprisingly, I thought those exit polls were so goofy they didn't phase me for a minute. Virginia for Kerry! That was laughable. Those polls were intentional and they were fraudulent. It was the last effort on the part of the liberal establishment to steal this election and the fact that they ever thought it would work makes me seriously concerned over their sanity.
I didn't see Brit at that time. What did he look like?

kept saying Bush wont win
Evangicals wont come out
Youth vote will conquer etc etc etc
THAT pissed me off i really dont pay attention until real results are shown i remember 2000
OH yes, me too. But Mark Levin helped to settle me down. He truly is "the great one!"
I'll admit it.. I was depressed. Those exit polls looked so bad for our side, I thought we were in trouble of losing seats in the senate. I didn't find comfort till around 8:30 when FL and OH started coming in and I could look at the county by county returns. Cuyahoga CO. (most democratic) was one of the first counties to come in, with southern ohio silent (most republican) and Bush was still holding a lead, i felt pretty confident about Ohio since I'm from Cincinnati and know how the state goes. And when I saw centeral florida go heavy Bush, thats when I started celebrating. The icing on the cake though was watching Daschle go down. I was really nervous about that. I remember 2002 when Democrats started pulling out the fraud on the reservations to beat Thune, so I wasn't sure.
OK, someone will call me a troll for posting this, but I deny it still.
But while I am ecstatic Bush won, I could live with Kerrey as president, so I wouldnt say I was worried.
I did start to wonder which was so totally off; the exit polls or the continuing polls from the day before. Seems the Dems were seeking out the exit pollers and telling them their vote.
But we are much better off with Bush in there instead of Kerrey, but I would take Kerrey over almost any European head of state in a heart beat, like Blair, Chirac, Schroeder, Putin, etc.
But I am greatly relieved to see we have Bush instead.
Virginia's electoral delay had me down-in-the-dumps. To make things worse, I couldn't log-on to Free Republic since I live in the sticks and use a blasted dial-up. That lap-top of mine almost became airborne.</p>
I would have been down, but I was too busy working the pollwatching and too sick (bad cold) and too many kids needing me to have heard the bad prognostication. When I finally settled down to watch the returns, it looked pretty good.
When I saw the PA #'s, I was confused. When I saw the SC #'s, I knew something was wrong.

I couldn't believe that I am so outside the main stream of America. My heart was racing and I was getting very down, but I kept checking here and found the voice of reason telling me to ignore the exit polls.
We should remember this. WE ARE THE MAJORITY. WE ARE THE ADULTS, WHO DO THE HEAVY LIFTING. Its the "rats" who are the minority, monday morning quarterbacks, who act like immature children.

I was feeling pretty good until I heard Estrich on FNC later that night. I didn't really believe the trype she was peddling, but I had some doubts after her silly tirade about the exit polls. After getting on FR though I felt better.:)
