antaresequity did a post about them not acknowledging Veterans Day when they honor so many others... I emailed them and a few others did also Im sure from "antaresequitys" original thread.....heres their reply to me: Thank you for your note. We're glad that you appreciate Google's holiday logos and would like to explain why we didn't post one for Veterans Day this year. Please be assured that the decision whether to display a special logo for a holiday does not reflect any judgment on our part about the holiday itself.
Google's special logos tend to be lighthearted in nature. If we were to commemorate Veterans Day, we would want to express reverence, rather than mirth. This would be a particularly challenging design. We would not want to, in any way, create a graphic that could be interpreted as disrespectful. In light of the mail we've received about this, we're actively considering designs we could display on this day next year. We welcome any suggestions you may have.
Regards, The Google Team
They could at least put up a flag.

But they didn't miss Halloween!!!!!!!!
I got a response from them too. Same thing. I suggest the emblems of the Armed services...
so, the 4th of July is a "mirthful" day? Christmas, the birth of Christ is a "mirthful" day?
Well ... maybe since the beginning of the "great society" days and the almost dictatorial rule by the left-wing radicals afterwards, you could say something that should be held solemnly and with respect or reverence as "mirthful" --- or so the scumbag lawyers would have redefined them.

In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields

With a name like Google... it's kinda hard to get worked up about anything they do or don't do.
Very lame reply on their part. Thank you for sharing it.
I have been a Google user since their inception. Even though the site was designed and is owned by liberals, I have overlooked that because it is an amazingly good product.
Most IT/software people I have worked with have been liberal. It seems to go with the territory.
I emailed them this morning and got the same reply.
typical leftist company....
I changed to a new search engine www.alltheweb.com
I have always been awestruck by the simple yet powerful visual of the geometric rows of markers in national cemetaries...

They've also done Earth Day the past 4 years:
But if the markers are crosses, Google probably wouldn't want them because it might appear "religious".
Brings to mind that old warning about being "lukewarm", doesn't it?....:)

You could start with an American flag
Some soldiers at attention.
And or perhaps a salute.
but you know the saying: "Excuses are like noses, everybody's got one." (Well, that's the version my Grampa told me - it was years before I heard the other one.)
