Best bet is to respect only those laws passed after due deliberation by a legislative body.

What if they make it illegal for money to have the phrase? It will be a crime to have, and another crime to scribble it out.
yes, and why not? the only holidays that should be observed are ones that are not associated with ANY religion.
that leaves the Political Holidays (President's day, Martin Luther King day, Labor day, Memorial day, etc...if we need more we could have Ronald Regan Day and United States Marine Corps Day, to suggest a few,)
and pagan holidays like Halloween could also be celebrated with time off.

Imagine if you will, Hindu's take over this country, they start saying that it was Shiva's (or whatever their "god" is named) goal to bring Hindu's to America and because of that America is a Hindu country. And they start by changing under God to Under Shiva. How would you feel?
I am confident in my Christianity, if we keep pushing our Religion down the throats non-christians (yes, they are wrong, and probably going to hell, but there is nothing we can do about it other than set a good example), we are no better than the Mullahs of Iran.
Who told you that you can't pray to God. And if I was a kid in school today, I'd start a prayer group just because they told me I couldn't.

You should look up the origins of these holidays. They were all based on Religious reasons.
So why aren't you working every Sunday, why are you taking Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving Days off? Why don't you practice what you preach. Bigot!!
An excellent essay. Thanks for posting it. The freeloading secular-humanists aren't so willing to actually live by their principles when they become inconvenient or personally costly, it seems.
