........more to the point. Why did the Catholic Church keep the third secret of Fatima locked away for so many years when the "Lady", the Mother of Jesus specifically gave a time and date when this secret was to be revealed to the world? In the 1960's? Did they feel that their judgments were more important than the Lady they worship? Did they feel that they knew better and the lady had her timing wrong? Did they not fear retribution from the Lady for not revealing the secret when they were told to do so? What provoked them to finally reveal the secret over 40 years after they were instructed to do so? What effect could this great delay have had on the world and continue to have on the world? Why do they not allow Sister Lucia (the remaining survivor of the three fatima children) to reveal the secret to the world in her own words? This I feel would be more credible, more accurate an account than the one we have been given. How do we know for certain that the 3rd secret finally revealed by the Catholic Church is true, authentic and accurate with nothing omitted, admitted or censored?

You question is in the 'Present Tense'........She's dead.

I think the answer to your questions is clear: The Catholic Church is clearly in league with the lizard people, the cigarette smoking man, the greys, women from Venus, and the Masons, all in an effort to cover-up the existence of Planet X.

I mean, it's obvious.

". . .more to the point. . ."

. . .think I missed something'. . .

That said, welcome to Free Republic; but you may want to back up just a little. . .and not just with this paragraph. . .

As for your question. . .'How do we know for certain that the 3rd secret finally revealed by the Catholic Church is true, authentic and accurate with nothing omitted, admitted or censored?'

You cannot know. . .

More importantly, why was I the third man on the grassy knoll, when I was born in 1975?
How could I have been the third man on the grassy knoll when I couldn't possibly have been there?

And why am I the grassy knoll?

Nice of you to sign up with that handle just to engage in Catholic bashing.
Thanks a bunch.

You must be new to this topic. But there is a chance you have been confused by the contradictory information.

I have old books on Fatima, and I have recently found books from the 40's that contain factual errors about the apparitions and the life of Sr. Lucia after those days.

My answer for your first question is, it was not "the 1960's" but "in 1960, or upon Sister Lucia's death, whichever comes first." Her death obviously came second. So, the Churchmen had ample time to release it, but did not. That's point A. Point B is, that since the Churchmen who control its release have proven themselves to have a vested interest in preventing it's release, how can we trust them? How can we be sure that when they say "this is the entire 3rd Secret, and there is no more," and that "we showed this to Sister Lucy and she agrees there is no more to reveal," that this is the truth?

The answer to all these questions is very simple. If the real 3rd secret were to be revealed, nobody would be asking any questions, because the real 3rd secret speaks for itself. It answers all the questions. The version the Vatican released only raises more questions, therefore, it is not the true one.

This is not to say that what was released was not the words of Sr. Lucy. We know many things about the "3rd secret" (which is actually the THIRD PART of "the secret"), the most important thing being that it is the words of Our Lady. It is a direct quote. What we were given was more of a narrative, and as such, does not fit into the known confines of what it is. It is short, about 22 to 28 lines of handwritten text, on a special type of paper, folded, and addresses certain subjects.

The only reason the Churchmen will not reveal it is, if they were to reveal it, they would have to GIVE UP on their agenda that they have been working feverishly to accomplish for many decades. They would have to admit they have been lying to us. They don't want to give up, so they refuse to 'fess up.
