Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Still round the corner there may wait
Home is behind, the world ahead,
Welcome welcome welcome!
Anyone wishing to be added to or removed from the Ring-Ping list, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Wooohooo! White Smoke! :-)
Good morning, I have to go tend the ponies... Fatty Lumpkin is raisin' heck out there, demanding breakfast!
Good morning! I was in the middle of answering my pings and we moved!
Howdy, howdy, howdy!
Love the smell of a new place!
Hi Dan! Good to see you, my long-time friend!
And the new Pope is the first visitor! :o)
We'll take care of that fer yuh...
WooHoo! Even Il Papa has come to visit us in our new digs!
I'm sure the dwarves will!
I'm sure the dwarves will!
That's what I thought! Heh heh heh!
But someone left a beer bottle on the table by the door... I'm so dreadfully embarrassed ;~D
I want it to be known that I am innocent of any and all spam that may or may not have occured last night on the old thread. :-D
Hmmm...I need to create an South Park Ruthy Angel.
Steve told me last night that for the rest of this semester, he won't be able to come home early. Told me that he's going to have to start studying on Sundays. That's normal, it's this way every end of the semester, so although I'm gonna miss him, this is kinda exciting...At least he'll have no more "classes" to go to after this semester is over.
He's taking Environmental Law right now and he really likes the instructor...apparently, while going over something in her class, she read something about the world being billions of years old. Under her breath she said "Oh, I don't know if I believe that..." No one caught it but Steve and he's been quietly impressed with her ever since.
He's GERMAN, Hair!! LOL
Hiya - Nice new hobbit hole.
It's just the principle of the matter... ;~D
No, I don't know of any websites... sorry. The Red Cross or USO might, tho.
Thanks for your prayers, Suzi! I think I'll manage ok on this test... I think.
I might write the guy that wrote me...'member him? The one that I posted his letter and he sent me his patch with the wings on it? I have his letter in my china cabinet along with my Afghanistan flag...
Not ask him anything...just touch base, so to speak and see if he tells me anything...
Good Mornin' Everyone!
First post to the new thread, and on the first page even :)
Oh, I understand that our new Holy Father likes his Bavarian and German beers.
Nice to see you again, libarian!
I took the day off, so I'm off to the vet to have Scruffy's leg checked out again. The Rimadyl (for arthritis) has helped a wee bit, but he still isn't using his rear leg properly.
He's my first baby, even though he's a dog. *grin* But at 11 years old, he deserves to have the best care I can possibly give him.
Be back soon!
Good morning and welcome!
We lived in Tallahassee for four years while SSQ got his Post Hole Digger at Florida State, and when we left the place, he never wanted to see it again! LOL!! I enjoyed our time there; it was a pretty town, but we have different memories of it.
Do contact the guy in the unit who arranged the tour for you. Let him know we're thinking about them and remembering them in prayer. I know he'll be pleased to hear from you. You might even tell him what you shared with us about your feelings about their not flying over your house anymore. Let him know how safe it made the jedis feel. I know he and his buddies will feel good about having done that.
It's beautiful here today! Too bad I have to spend the whole day indoors. Oh well, when I get home we'll have new furniture and can maybe clean this place up.
Ok! I'll do it. I'll go to the library this afternoon and write it and print it up there (my printer is out of ink...)
Post Hole Digger...heh heh!!! Took me a sec to figure that one out.
Hmmm...am I being called to convert?
I'm still seriesly thinking how to start a "Brothers and Brews Bible Study." Something along the concept of the Inklings, in feel if not in format.
Even thought we could meet at one of those "pints and wings" establishments and enjoy God's creations.
Good morning sir!
Mmm....wings! I gotta have some of OT's wings!
May have to settle for Wings to Go.
In the northern climes, when guys want to get away from wimmen, they go ice fishing.
Ermmm...does the missus know your location plans?
Some Catholic men's groups do something similar...they call it "Theology on Tap". Not as cool as your name, though. ;-)
Yeah, well, you wouldn't want to help lead those boys into a 'near occasion of sin', now, would you? ;o)
Who said we wanted to get away from wimmen?
They have some gatherings like that in the Worcester Diocese, but they are more young adult gatherings for both men and women. Sounds like a great place to meet possible mates!
There's a Christian businessmen and women's ministry here that has a session called "Spiritual Shots."
I read it in the name! :~D
I feel so much better since I know what I'm going to do...
Here's an idea...
I could bake a batch...just a small batch, maybe a couple dozen, cookies and send them to the guy that wrote me...tell him that my understanding is that they may be deployed soon...and to not forget to let me know if they do, so I can send the whole group cookies now and then.
What do you think? I know it's better than crying...but sometimes, I just gotta cry. LOL
And don't cry. :)
"And don't cry. :)"
Well, I ain't makin' any promises!
I'm making a loaf of bread in my machine. Thought about your bread thread...this summer, I'm going to get back to the "art" of making bread...this is just so utilitarian.
Sounds like a plan, 2J. It's always better to DO than to cry!
