Word For The Day, Day, Date
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
i·rasci·bili·ty or i·rasci·ble·ness n. i·rasci·bly adv.

Practice makes perfect.....post on....
She just called-I'm off to bring them through the maze of roads...
Relax, take a deep breath. I am sure they were just anxious to see you again. All will be fine.
Aren't you glad you wound up with the one in the family who has good sense instead of someone like your SIL? That's me, trying to find your silver lining in the dreaded family visit. Isn't it bizarre how they see us as the local Marriott, there to cater to their every whim and then they'll say something like, "well we didn't take a real vacation - we just went to visit family" and then you want to smack them.
I was plenty irascible for a few seconds when I saw what I'd wrought, but after that I was too busy laughing at myself to be bugged by any ribbing.
She should be so lucky...
I am exceedingly irascible today, though surprisingly, not due to any political upheavals, liberal outpourings, nor tinfoilhatted law proposals. Gwmoore simply had a bad weekend (LOL).
My Irascibility began with the malfunction of my brand new radio control computer, which I discovered, had no sound card output, and gwmoore was forced to lug same back to the 'puter store this AM... gwmoore's irascibility was further stoked by the fuel of having to deal with "late 20's early '30's total computer geek" who was NOT interested in the aforementioned gwmoore's credentials, nor the USE to which he was putting the "custom designed" computer. Yes, it's fixed (I guess) but said geek was on phone to gwmoore approx 1845 (store closes at 1900) tells gwmoore "jumpers were misconfigured" and hangs in silence, as if the writer did something obscene. I informed geek that " that's the way it was, etc etc and made attempt to explain 'puters use and why 2 sound cards are needed calling one "primary" and one "secondary". Geek states "there aren't any "primary and secondary sound, uh, uh sir (had real problem with sir), they are just sound cards". Gwmoore refrained from reading riot act, threatening Capt's mast, quoting CV and resume to geek, teeth were gritted, thoughts of gratuitous violence were entertained, and promptly discarded ;-)....... ^^%%$$%%##^&&&***(((( Geeks!!!!!! Doesn't he KNOW he's talking to an ENGINEER!!!!! (well, you get the picture LOL)..
Ok, I am calming down, and it IS a great computer store, but I wanted to grill said geek about his political leanings and his screen name and tagline at DU, but also refrained, neither time, place, nor correct behavior ;-) Anyhow, is it any wonder that I am irascible???? I think not!!
Second reason for irascibility. The "cold [allergy?] from hell" has descended upon my entire being. Since I feel crummy, I will behave as irascible as I desire in the classroom today, thank you.. I will take cold medicine and become "stuned", as if with a "beeber like device".. I will cause disruptions with my irascibility.... I will also close out now, and quit babbling on and on and on ROTFL.......
Greg (so irascible, he could chew through solid concrete)
my fave part LOL!!!
dang, i better give you a grade or you might bite MY head off!! A++++! ; )
I did, however, behave like a gennulman, and didn't haul geek over coals, apply hot pokers, flush his 'puter texts down toilets, etc etc, while asking " Are You Now, Or Ever Have Been, A Member of DU???? The Communist Party? Al Queida? the Democratic Party? The Brady Organization?" ROTFLMAO!!!
I m glad you enjoyed it..... tnx fer the grade, teach ;_ I'll try not to be irascible tomorrow, show up for class on time, and participate in the group discussion, instead of cutting class and going shooting, which I wanted to do LOL (I don't think this "cold" is gonna clear up, and my eyes have what feels like sandpaper under the lids, with the expected result...No way is shooting possible if ya can't see ;-)..
Of course, my wife might have a different take...LOL.
i am ready to burst a vein over the *(^(*^% RINOS reaching a compromise on the filibuster!
If the RNSC thinks it will get a penny from me they are insane.
Chaffee and Snowe should lose in 2006. If DeWine signed on for this than I am voting against him and recommending it to all my friends.
Who all signed this thing? Did that little closet case from South Carolina sign it?
I think that they are an irascible lot.
Ruck the fINO's
i think warner did and yeah i think the closet case did also.
That totally ruined my day.
Good Grief - I wish you luck, FRiend - and lots of patience.
I was screaming (silently) at the TV when Warner intorduced and yielded to sheets..........
I am racing the mustang at capitol speedway. Closed track, helmets, all that.
I bet you had an totally enjoyable dinner this eveing - even though it was unexpected. I'm like you all - I'm not real good with abrupt plan changes.
I was real proud of myself this afternoon with how I handled Jax getting off the bus with an invitation to a birthday party that started in 25 minutes..........an invitation that had no address or phone number on it. She told me she knew where the child lived and so off we went to Dollar General to get gift and card. Jax was correct the other child lived in a blue house near the railroad tracks - but she had the wrong road.
Jax at least knew the child's last name and how to spell it - but there was no one in the phone book with that name in this part of the county - so I took a chance of calling another person with that name in this county and wound up on the phone with the grandmother who gave me the phone number. I didn't get into the dynamics of the divorces and remarriages and thus the problems with the names - but had Jax there by 5........sheesh.
You're a loon!!!!!!!
i hope jax appreciated the effort you went through! that was above and beyond!
c'mon, some men have BAD mid-life crisis. Mine is pretty mild. LOL.
I thought she did - until she got home (a neighbor told me she would bring her home) and fought about the homework........GRRRRRRRRRRR
But coolbreeze appreciated it and told me what a great mommy I am - that made me feel real good.
jax is coolbreeze's mid-life crisis.
LOLOL - see, mine is comparitively inexpensive...
I'm still trying to figure out the two sound cards thing... I'm an Aggie but not an engineer. ;)
Good investigative work, Gabz!
Make sure that insurance policy is paid up for Mrs. Patton.
2M cash policy.
Thank you, my FRiend - the reporter in me shows up in unimaginable ways at times!!!!
And for goodness sakes, be careful out there.
I just saw the neighborhood bear, it ran in front of my car and up a tree......scared the beejeebees out of me. It is HUGE! I couldn't get around the corner into my driveway fast enough, even ran into the house. Wonder where the baby was. I am on call tonight and tomorrow night, not sure if I can do this.
Of course - I am out to have fun, not get killed. (said the paratrooper...)
You need to carry a gun.
I dislike bears in the neighborhood a lot...eat your garbage, eat your garden, eat your cat, sometimes they try to eat you....
I have seen one bear, peaking over the road on the Chinook Pass on HWY 410 just south of Mt. Ranier...my wild bear seeing itch is satisfied...
I don't own a gun, I live in a peaceful village and the village cops just laughed at me tonight when I whined about the bear.
I did take the extra few seconds to back the car into the drive so I was closer to the front door. I am a wuss. I was shaking....I have to get control - I am supposed to run to danger and help people....... (deep breath)
Friend of mine in griz country in Alaska keeps a .45 Winchester highwall rifle, one by each door for the times when Ol' Ephraim (as he calls them) gets frisky and his dogs get mighty nervous....
Some day we can have a fight about NY gun laws. But not tonight. Go hug your hubby.
sounds like a plan.
LOL. I loved it.
Shame on them for laughing...bears are serious problems, and even black bears have been known to hunt children...Not far from here (in Utah) sometime in the last few years, a 12 year old was pulled through the window of a cabin by a black bear, carried off and killed...
The village board approved the budget tonight and half the village showed up to protest an increase.....we were just hanging out for a few minutes after the meeting when I brought up that they were both up on our hill for a bear sighting this morning.
I do have to laugh though - the bear saw my headlights and hightailed it up a tree just a few feet from my car, it's just around the corner from my house....he/she acted scared, but man it was huge compared to that tree. Like a 250 pound man hugging a tree....... Thank God I didn't hit it and wreck my car.
We don't have a lot of bears here, but in the mountains near here there are some. Cougar are sited on the mountainside near town, and occasionally people spot a moose.
We were up in the mountains one day on a flat where we could do some target practice and a moose decided to cross the field. Boy, was it big. I made everybody get in the car, lest he decide he didn't like our looks.
Seen elk around here, too...and some mule deer. Heard coyotes kiyi-ing one day, too. They were up in a canyon I could see from the church I go to (which is pretty much on the edge of things along the Wasatch Front.
OMG - stay safe my FRiend.......I don't know what else to say to you.
Other than good night - I'm calling it a night.
I heard we have grey foxes spotted near us as well.......and they just live up the street and over on another road, just out of our neighborhood.
