"1) You are the Sunshine of my life"

If anyone sings this again, including Stevie Wonder, I'll stick my head in an aquarium until it ends.

You could still join us, if you don't mind hearing the results before you watch. I used to do that when I lived in CO and a few others still do it.

We have a blast!

Wow...already over 10,000 posts and we're not even at the top 12 yet!

Tonight's show should be interesting. Glen Beck said the same thing I've been saying:
He likes Chicken Little but thinks he may get voted off tonight and hates to see him go. I like the guy too. He just seems genuine. Sure, he'll never win, but I'd give him a few more weeks.

I know that Randy "Dawg" Jackson and Simon want guys to win this year, but I have a feeling that McPhee may be a spoiler this year. She and Lisa Tucker are the "stand outs" as far as I see. The guys have Taylor, Chris and Elliott.

Bo's singing tonight. I haven't heard his new CD so I'm interested in hearing how he does.

Just because you don't like his style, or the song, doesn't mean he doesn't sing will. Believe me, there are tons of people who don't like Taylor's style, but appreciate that he's talented..why can't you?

We might well experience some shockers tonight folks. Brace yourself.

There is a website called DIALIDOL.COM that tries to predict the chances of an Idol contestant being eliminated based on the frequency of business of their numbers as scanned by computers.

On the girls side, Dial Idol is predicting that Kinnick and Lisa (Yes I said Lisa NOT Melissa) will be the next to go.

I've always said that Simon sometimes does more harm than good by his constant pimping for and against a contestant. He did Latoya a lot of harm by telling Jasmine she was going to leave. I'll be darned of the folks from Hawaii and Daly City didn't dial their fingers off voting for Jasmine and killing off Latoya's chances of winning ( and for me, Latoya WAS the best singer in season 3. BETTER THAN FANTASIA ).

This year, it's happening again with Simon telling Meliisa to get an airplane ticket home and then pimping for Kellie ( to the point of saying he prefered her over Carrie Underwood ). Unfortunately, the victim here MIGHT BE Lisa Tucker. The powers that be wanted Melissa to go. What they will be getting instead would be the other Lisa.

On the guy’s side, Dial Idol is predicting that Will and Gedeon will be leaving us.

I am a bit surprised here because I thought Gedeon did very well last night--- MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN EITHER BUCKY or KEVIN.

Someone in this thread said that an abused puppy will be defended and that's exactly what Kevin is now perceived as -- an abused puppy. KEVIN GOT THE MOST BUSY SIGNALS LAST NIGHT.

Here are the Dial Idol stats :

You can't seem to get past their looks: Mandisa is too fat, Hicks is too old, etc. Are you that superficial?

I can't believe you're that naive. THIS IS AMERICAN IDOL..not a radio competition. I didn't say Mandisa was TOO fat..I said she'd be a knockout if she lost weight because she's so beautiful. I said Hicks is TOO old looking to be an American Idol. Here's what you're not thinking about...after the competition, the top 6 go on tour...who goes to these shows? 10-16 year old GIRLS...GIRLS...Hicks is getting the older people vote right now, but when the field thins, he'll be weeded out. He will have a good career, just not the American Idol career. And he's probably lucky if that happens.

Now, as far as me being superficial? Why are you being so sensitive? hmm? If you don't think looks matter in entertainment, then you're pretty out of touch.

Stevie Wonders songs? The key to doing it right, is to pick his upbeat songs, not the freakin ballads.

I just hope someone sings:

"I Wish"

"Master Blaster"

"Superstition"

"Part-Time Lover"

"That Girl"

"Ebony & Ivory"

"Uptight (Everything's Alright)"

I also hope, they don't butcher his songs like the contestants did when they did to Barry Manilow a few seasons back.

Is it possible to butcher them any worse than Barry Manilow already does?

LOL!! Hey now...he's getting on in years and that does something to a voice...:)

He still sings pretty good, but you're right, the last time I saw him perform (on Dancing with the Stars, no less), he didn't sound as good as he used to. But I'm sure much better than idol wannabe's.

I hope that dialidol.com is wrong in it's predictions, cuz that would suck if Tucker got sent home.

By the way, how do they know about the busy signals and how many someone gets? How can they figure that, realistically?

And do you suppose Vote For The Worst has anything to do with who has the higher votes? Kevin? Jeesh...this show IS rigged...stupid reality shows...

I must say I’m bummed that I can’t join you all as this show is unfolding, though. But I’m on Mountain time, so I’m an hour or so behind you.

If you think Mountain time is rough in terms of following this thread live, imagine what it's like for us in the Pacific time zone. I must admit, though, that it's fun to come here on results night to find out early who gets bounced.

Will, likewise, is very good, but not great. The difference is that he still has a huge amount of potential to grow, and I don't think the others do.

I agree with you. The fun of the show is to watch the growth of those who have the most potential to develop their talent through this experience, and appreciate the opportunity.

That's what I like about Will. (and a few others to some degree). I just wonder if he would've been more ready for the experience in a few more years.

Will is cute (although I hate his hairstyle), and he has a pleasant voice. However, we in the viewing audience can only judge based on what we see coming across our TV screens. To me, Will appears not to be taking this competition very seriously. He has a lackadaisical, almost disconnected stage presence, and he's picked fairly easy songs.

Is this due to his age? Maybe, but I don't think so.
