Having just watched 24 and having never watched LOST, how could it be better than 24? How long can those people stay 'lost'?

Those people aren't "lost". They're trying to hide from Jack Bauer. It won't work.

Yes, 24 is better than lost.
Lost started off with a good enough show, but the writers didn't know what to do with the show and I think it is sinking.
Meanwhile 24 gets me upset by killing off the main characters while leaving Kim alive.

I just want to know what Vic Mackey is going to do when he figures out that Shane killed Lem. Sorry, Jack.

Tonight's 24 episode was good but a bit rushed. Jack beat up 3 people, became angry when ex-girlfriend slept with someone while he was "dead" and turned his fury on her. Later kissed and made up which set him up for good make up sex (good thinking Jack!!), and managed to shoot and kill a few terrorists while stopping the terrorists' attempts to release nerve gas.
Damn!!

Why make it a competition? They are both good shows that are largely free of PC liberalism. And, how can you go wrong with a show with Evangeline Lilly?

I agree. I think it may be an American thing, but we want black and white, good and bad. 24 is that. Here's the formula:
1. Bad guys plan bad thing.
2. Jack finds out.
3. Jack kills bad guys.
Lost is about relationships, personalities, all that touchy-feely crap.
Just give us Jack Bauer, enough bad guys to last 24 hours, and plenty of ammo. Oh, and don't forget Chloe! That girl can shoot! But mostly, give us Jack! He's cute...and his "man bag" holds a little more fun than files from the office!

I think the strike team will end up killing each other off.
And Audrey Raines is getting too close to Jack again. Shes got to die.

Is 24 better than Lost? Could never get into Lost and gave up after four viewing in the first season. Got hooked on 24 right from the get-go. Still am.

Another forum called his bag the "Jack Pack"
I personally think he has a rusty Kbar knife and the name of everyone who doesnt watch 24 in it. He's gradually working his name through the list, and cleaning the knife after each visit.

Jack Bauer wasn't addicted to heroin. Heroin was addicted to Jack Bauer.

I don't watch much TV (apart for ocassional News talk shows) but 24 is great escapism..well done, a touch of conservative POV and realism, and good writing...24 along with The Sopranos I can deal with. Lost? Never saw it..and do not plan to.
Once in a while we'll watch Anthony Bourdain on the travel channel...he can be silly in the weirdest places...although I cringe at his narrow ignorant comments sometimes.

I just want to know what Vic Mackey is going to do when he figures out that Shane killed Lem. Bad things, man.
I bet Ronny will figure it out and play "traffic cop" between Shane and Vic, then Vic will figure it out and will end up killing Shane, then he'll end up in prison. Ronny will go ahead and leave the team, and Vic will be left by himself, broken, betrayed, and alone.
My wife thinks that Cavanaugh will figure out that Shane killed Lem, will use that on Shane to get him to turn on Vic, Vic finds out, and kills Shane before fleeing to Mexico.
