They've been lying low since stirring up controversy a few years back, but the title of the Dixie Chicks' new single, "Not Ready to Make Nice," is a good indication of their resolve. It's also a stark, powerful preview of their new album, "Taking the Long Way," due out in May.

And the two blondes look like Goths who have just been hit by a truck.
To: BJungNan
My honest response to the title of that album would get pulled by the Mod in a nano-second.
I will just say that the juvenile title and its connotations speaks clearly about the immaturity of these 3 chicks, who obviously couldn't spell (or define) "ladylike" if you spotted them the 'l', 'a', 'd' and 'y'....

Now that's funny. We both go looking for a photo of the Dixie Chicks, pick the same one and post it at almost exactly the same time.

Ho hum. I think they'll find they made some new fans with their 'cool' new political stance, but lost a lot of old ones.

I used to really like the Dixie Chicks' music - and I'm a metal-thrashing-mad headbanger.
But I saw their new video on VH1, and I believe I can speak for both my girlfriend and me, it SUCKED.
They're trying to go "pop" (as was predicted by many Freepers here), and let me tell you, it ain't working.
The new vid sure as hell ain't "Sin Wagon".
Off to run Hank Williams III's new album "Straight To Hell" - that 5h1t ROCKS

They just used the Chicks when it was convenient for their bankrupt cause. Think they'll buy their record? No way.
You play some ass-kickin' bluegrass, or some saltwater-beer, straight from the heart, REAL country, and the leftists shrivel up like a slug what got salt poured all over it.

I was referring more to the shot they took for that album on the article posted above.
The one where they're dressed in black with waaaay too much eyeliner.
Can't say this one does much for me, either, honestly.

I agree. Besides, it's us who are not ready to make nice with these sleazy, traitorous harridans. I treat them as I did Jane Fonda and Barbra Streisand: not one penny of my money goes into their anti-American coffers. Funny, I was just getting ready to buy one of the Ditzy Hicks' DVDs; but Natalie criticized the best President we've had since Reagan. They still don't understand: sure, they have the right to say whatever they want, but I and many others have the right to spend our money however we want. It's all about freedom, isn't it?
To: BJungNan
but the title of the Dixie Chicks' new single, "Not Ready to Make Nice," is a good indication of their resolve. Or as one FReeper pointed out earlier, the Dippie Chix simply are..."Not ready to sell records" either.

The Chicks are dead in Country Music. They need to find another gig. They probably couldn't get work at the Dixie Chicken now waiting tables!
To: CheyennePress
The two former blondes have enough ghoulish make up on to put Marliyn Manson to shame, and the "fat one" looks like she is sucking her gut in so much that she is in danger of a proloned exhale that will blow her across the room.

The album picture shows they are not aging well. But who am I to judge them? Never liked their music anyway - they were never "country" in my book - rather commercial.

Used ta love 'em. Now, I just can't get by the obnoxious political drivel long enough to care about their music.
They were the Number 1 country group in the USA when fat Natalie opened her yap about Bush. They lost their entire base, and the libs ain't gonna fill the void.
There's a lesson in here, somewehere. I think it's "just shut up and sing"...

Who are these "Dixie Chicks"?
To: BJungNan
I saw the video and heard the song and they obviously are not ready to make money either. The song sucks and the video sucked almost as much as Ben Affleck did in Pearl Harbor. They are talented girls and I use to buy all their cds but when they started ripping on country music fans, etc because of our reaction to their remarks on foreign soil about our Commander in Chief I wrote them off for good. We're not ready to make nice either and we will have a lot more influence on the DC's than they will on us when they file chapter 13.

I'm currently reading this. Although written by an obviously sympathetic liberal, it details the trials of the DC and goes into the history of politics in country music. FreeRepublic is mentioned a couple times, even indexed.
