Having lived in Europe three times myself for a total of 10 years I can assure you that overall I and my family overall felt more threatened and insecure in Europe than in the United States. That's especially true with respect to the three years I lived in England.

But then I live in red-state America, authentic America. Blue state America (Detroit, NYC, Los Angeles, etc) has a European attitude and flavor. I would not live in such cesspools for any reason.

The European attitude toward self-defense is hard to describe. It has to be experienced. The deeply rooted socialism tends to cause people to conform like sheep to obey what the cultural elites tell them is good and acceptable. The elites tell them "go along to get along," "don't rock the boat," "don't cause a scene."

The average immigrant youth has no such strictures to temper his behavior.

The helpless sheep tendency is so powerful the average European will suffer intense and incessant badgering, insult, and petty crime with barely a whimper. It is not founded on any religious principle, but simply simply the ridicuous and hapless belief that "This too will pass."

Only it never passes. It just gets worse.

We had a similar beating on a bus in Oslo a little while ago, caught on the security camera. It was a packed bus (39 passengers), and nobody intervened.

In that case a gang of immigrant "youths" attacked a handicaped man.

He survived, but is paralysed.

This actually happened today in Sweden.

Armed robbers fired shots while attempting to rob a jewelry store in a major department store (Incidently, the same department store in which Anna Lindh, the foreign minister, was stabbed to death) in downtown Stockholm.

One of the robbers was wrestled to the ground by shoppers, and the the other was caught by security guards.

I just really noticed that story since it seems unusally to me that people intervene like that.

No one, for instance, intervened whilst Anna Lindh was stabbed to death.

Good evening.
"No one, for instance, intervened whilst Anna Lindh was stabbed to death."

Thanks for posting the news that there is hope in Europe. I was hoping the murders we are seeing the yoots committing are opening the European's eyes to the danger. It would seem to be so.

"The vast majority of the British population agree with the handgun ban - if you don't like democracy, that's hard luck."

Our Founders were in a quandary on what kind of a political system and government should be set up in America. But it didn't take them too long to realize whatever it was going to be, it was not going to be similar to a democracy where fifty-one percent of the people could tell the other fourty-nine percent that their rights were determined by the majority.

After the smoke had cleared, they reasoned that government should be instituted to protect and preserve the inalienable rights of even the least Citizen -- a government of the people, by the people and for the people.

The right to speak freely and defend your life was recognized as primary rights which acknowledged the concept that all men were created equal. For that reason, they were chiseled deeply in our Charter as the leading enumerated entries in the Bill of Rights.

But I don't suppose anyone living elsewhere can understand that concept, having always lived under the thumb of majority rule concerning what personal rights were -- and that your right to life was contingent on the current mindset of mob rule.

Who protects our equality and keeps the playing field level? Why, our referee, of course. Mr. Sam Colt.

re :You're lucky you weren't brought up on charges like Antonio Caeiro, or Tony Martin, just to name two.

Tony Martin shot two men as they were running away from his farm house, I smacked the guy as he was in my house.

I didn't boast to the police, all I said was that with two children upstairs I heard a noise as the bloke slipped my windows and was climbing in, in other words I used reasonable force to defend myself and my family

Can you tell me what crime you were victims of in England.
