It's in poor taste the mainstream press 'outed' him by covering his dating a man and attending gay bars. Who really cares? I read he's been hounded to 'come out' by a homosexual gossip called 'Perez Hilton' as well.
At least the wagging tongues can move on to their next victim and for that I'm glad for Lance.
It isn't a surprise he dated women. Perhaps he's to be commended for ultimately embracing that he couldn't love a woman fully as she ought to be or would be by a clearly heterosexual man.
It had to be very difficult in the group, dragging around such a 'secret' if he himself had realized his nature at that time. In those days many online speculated there were 'hints' about his orientation in his later costumes. Wonder if the interview explores this.

What's really sad is that my husband knew who Lance Bass is when I mentioned this to him. And he told me I sounded like an old woman for calling you "hon". Or whatever I said in my earlier post. lol I told him I am OLD. That means he's OLD. But at least he's N'Sync with our children. Blech.

This story didn't hit me until I was in a bookstore late one night, and there was People Magazine.
I had to do a double take just to make sure, yes, it was Lance Bass on the cover of people magazine, looking like a moron.
First thing I thought was, "what is he doing on the cover of People Magazine? Lance Bass is...so....five years ago."
Once I saw the headline, I thought "Is this how he expects to revive his dead career? He would have been much better off checking into rehab for alcohol or painkiller addiction." But then he would have only got a little blurb on the cover of People, or maybe not at all.
People Magazine is pretty much saying, you could be out of the limelight for years, and this is all you need to do to get front-and-center attention from us.
