Umm, no, you said he went into graphic detail about his child's body and exhumation. I can't recall JR *ever* doing that. Just the opposite.

However, I haven't followed him around all day for 10 years, so I don't know every single thing he has ever said. That just didn't sound like anything he would even approach at all.

One thing I haven't seen discussed is whether JMK comment that it was an accident and 2nd degree, not first will hold water with the DA and speculation that he will try to plea bargain for that.

Personally, I think he's misinformed (or in deep denial). I don't see how this murder could ever be tried at anything less than first degree because of the injuries and the manner in which they were inflicted.

Will keep you and your dad in prayers....Dementia is so difficult for all members of the family....This is truly horrible for any innocent person even remotely involved.

Good for you! Don't let your father watch the news. Glad to hear your family is ok. Been thinking about you.

Doing ok here....my kids went to college this weekend so for the first time in 26 years: no kids. Excited for them, yet the house is way to quiet and empty!

I wouldn't put anything past them. The term "inept" just doesn't fit anymore. Something has always smelled about the bungling of this case and the rush to nail the Ramsey's.

RE: stun gun

Have wondered if the marks on JBR resemble in any way the blood blisters that his first wife described having after she woke up from her two day "drug induced"? sleep?

per TV interview with her parents.

BTW did any of you buy PEOPLE magazine?....Is it worth the price?....Anything new?

It was on an ABC program; here's the transcript:

Doberson (Arapahoe county coroner) said he wasn’t ready to make a definite public statement unless the body was exhumed. The next logical step would be exhumation; yet, the Ramseys absolutely refused to do this. Here is why, according to the Ramseys, they refuse to exhume JBR.

From the ABC program 20/20 transcript March 17, 2000:
BARBARA WALTERS: Why wasn't the body exhumed?
JOHN RAMSEY: (PAUSE) Don't know why the police didn't consider that. Uh, we were asked… when this theory first surfaced about a stun gun that if the body were exhumed… it could be proved conclusively but it had to be done fairly quickly. This was… within months of when we'd just buried JonBenet. And I, as her father, could not bring myself to do that. I had laid my child to rest. She was at peace. And that was, ah, that decision I couldn't make.
BARBARA WALTERS: Even though it might have cleared you?
JOHN RAMSEY: It wasn't… that was not the priority. The priority was my child was at rest.

From the 48 hours interview with Erin Moriarty. Oct. 4th 2002 CBS:
Erin Moriarty: “Wouldn’t that have been or the best way to know or coming the closest to knowing is if you could have exhumed the body and line up a stun gun and see it matches those injuries?”
Lou Smit: “Sure, I believe that would have been the most accurate way to do it.”
Erin Moriarty: ( Voice over) Lou Smit admits that in the months following JonBenet’s death, investigators considered going to court to have her body exhumed but decided against it.
John Ramsey: “We buried our child, she was in peace, that was just a horrid thought.”
Erin Moriarty: “But, John that might have been the one way to know for sure, that could have resolved the whole issue, because if a stun gun was used, then it was not the parents.”
John Ramsey: “Certainly, and we’ve got people who told us, who know what they are doing, that with 95 percent medical certainty that a stun gun was used. No question.
Erin Moriarty: “But you would have known with 100 percent, with certainty, if you had exhumed the body, as tough as that would have been”.
John Ramsey: “That’s my child you’re talking about, not a body, it’s different.”

There could be a connection. I wonder if a stun gun belonging to JMK will be found? Or has been?

Okay, I see what you're saying. No, I guess it wasn't 'graphic' in the sense most would take that...

I guess I just thought it odd he would even talk about it at all. The very subject is graphic.

I think the experience of kidnappings is that the kidnapper is going to do what he set out to do. They called the cops. That was no-no #1. 2,3,4,5,6 doesn't matter.

Any kidnapper will expect you to call the authorities. It was the stupidity of the cops that prevented any possible early hits on the case. They sent a "babysitter" to the Ramseys house not a Columbo!!

One of my neighbors mentioned maybe it was a cattle prod instead of a stun gun.....The prod has only one point of contact and would seem to be more consistent than the stun gun. It's shape would also be more phallic.

He didn't talk about it, he answered direct questions from interviewers regarding exhumation.

He was doing interviews because they hoped keeping the killing in the public eye would cause new leads or information to come to light.

Eventually, it appears to have worked, because JMK contacted Tracey and apparently tried to contact PR which led to his arrest.

Yes. Let's put the interview in context. I don't believe this 'convicts' the Ramseys at all. I just thought it odd. Maybe he just thinks differently than I do and I agree that is precisely stuff like this that has been used to unfairly point fingers. That's why I'm not saying this 'convicts' anyone in any sense at all.

But if it had been my daughter I would have never talked about exhumation to check for wounds on my deceased daughter on national television. But if I knew a perp were still out there, I would definitely authorize the exhumation. I just wouldn't be there when it was done.

True, JMK contacted authorities possibly as a result of JR's willingness to talk publicly.

The needle or life. Even if he is convicted of 1st degree, it'll be 20 years of Appeals.

Just get him off the street.

After conviction, leave a rope in his cell. Put a noose in it. Send him the video....Hang'm High.
